I think I need to give Plex another look. I didn't know you could share all your media with your friends which looks like fun. I tried it a while back and couldn't get used to the interface. It was like using iTunes for the first time and having all your carefully organised folders ripped to shreds by the software.

It works like a charm! Kevlo's been kind enough to provide me with enough entertainment to last me the rest of my life - I just hope PLEX sticks around for me to enjoy it :D I've primarily used my xbox and google chromecast with my iphone/pad, but they finally made a deal with LG I guess, so I've been using my smart tv now too.
