Before this takes a salacious spiral....Yes, everything we make is phthalate free and made at at ICTI and ASTM compliant factories.

Thanks!

Post Re: Unbox releases which fall outside our reg forums
I really love the 3 witches (skinner paint) that I received from Unbox. The paint and figures looked great! The vinyl definitely feels more like the typical KR product but I think it works great for this unique set.

My only gripe was the shipping packaging, which thankfully did not harm the figures so I wasn't going to post about it, but since we have a direct line to unbox here it may help to deter any possible future damage. The three witches were placed in a box just big enough for them with only the plastic bag they each came in and no additional wrapping or padding in between. I wasn't so much worried about paint rubs, though very possible, as much as the potential damage to the fragile hands of the figure. Seemed like a bigger box could have been utilized, especially for the $30 shipping that was charged :(
The real disappointment was how the absolutely stunning header was stuffed into this undersized box. Luckily I was able to flatten the header under some heavy books and the front seems unscathed but the back definitely has some creases. I'm not usually one to care much about headers but this one is a work of art in itself. And again, for $30 I expected a little more TLC.

But oh man these witches are badass!

Hello MonstaIslandCzar

Thanks for the feedback and that's another issue that definitely needs addressing. If you would like a replacement header I will get one sent out.
With regards to your comment about the vinyl feeling, all the vinyl we use is the same!

In basic terms, the actual processes used make the materials act differently which yield the different 'feeling'
I'm glad you are happy with the witches nonetheless.

Thanks!

i enjoy all the products ive received thru unbox but shipping should be readjusted.

$84.4 hkd = $10.89 usd (charged $25 usd) :(

also like ben mentioned, no packing materials in a very flimsy box.

The mask however, had NONE of these quality control issues, so I have some hope for the replacement figure to be as intended.

Thanks for posting.
The figure has been overcooked and unfortunately no one has noticed and rejected him.

We will get a replacement over and we will always attempt to minimize problems.

I have Two NutiPati (Green & Purple) and both are rad figures. There's one black speck on the side of my Purple NutiPati's Face, but TBH I'm just thankful to have the figures. As I'm a MIP collector, can't comment on smell, posable issues, etc. Unbox is rad, Dan is nice, I'm certain if someone has any issues that they'd stand by their products. They're really enthusiastic about the artists and their toys, and personally I look forward to doing more business with them in the future as I'm quite partial to some of their clientele. :)

I wanted to post here about the mini Mockbats... they are FANTASTIC. Vinyl quality is really good- I'm relieved, after my Nutipati experience. The only slight issue was that their heads would not turn well, as the collar at that joint was not trimmed down far enough to accommodate the tongue-joint the whole way 'round- easily fixed.* Otherwise, WONDERFUL- no odor to speak of, and a hardness/luster/gen'l quality on par w/ sofubi. And PLAYABLE as hell!!! So much fun!!! 8)

*To anyone looking to fix this, who may not have had to do such a vinyl alteration before: I trimmed the collar down to about a 5mm height, and it works great. Use a hairdryer, heat gun or boiling water to soften the head for removal, and soften the collar for cutting. You want it to not be mushy for the cutting- just a bit of nice, softened give... a little resistance to the blade is good. Use a sharp Xacto and go SLOWLY and carefully. Mainly, after insertion, you want to let the blade do the work as you slowly turn the body, watching closely to maintain an even, consistent amount of material below your incision. Especially on a toy this small, it's easy to zag and suddenly cut away too much... again, SLOOOOW and careful.

Not entirely to my tastes, execution-wise, but I'm still really glad that this little lady exists:

Don from Unibox was kind enough to send me these snaps of the box art:

FOLLOW UP : I'm sorry, it's now 6mo later and I'm just realizing that I never gave y'all an update on my Nuti Pati replacement. But first, it wouldn't be right if I weren't to point out that Unbox's customer service is top bar, especially Dan, who, like others have mentioned, seems to legitimately want to please his customers. I can't imagine it's easy to handle each individual's situation personally either with the Many projects that Unbox has in the works, but after dealing with Dan a few more times now, I can say that he definitely does and does it well (even going out of his way to track down a couple of htf toys for me recently). So it might not come as a surprise to those of you familiar with Dan, that even though these were already released and sold out, he ordered another batch from the factory (with more stringent qc) to be used only as replacements. I'll have to get pictures sometime, but I can say that the new one I received is Much better; no burns, trash & dirt in or on the vinyl, and the vinyl appears to be evenly cooked and distributed. This replacement echoes the quality of Connel's NP.

plastichunter wrote:
For the record. Have one of the clear blue (rainy day) mask with milky purple peanut versions and on closer inspection can't find a single flaw in the vinyl. The articulation in the arms and waist are smooth. One leg is slightly shorter than the other but I didn't run into the same positioning or standing problem.

And although the original one that I received should've NEVER been sold, I'm quite happy that I went with the option of a re-do instead of a refund. I like this toy and you may too, but you should know in advance - don't expect sofubi. It's just clearly not of the same make-up, and truthfully, that's fine with me cause I don't think it's trying to be. This becomes evident when you start trying to compare them, as half of my original complaints were accurate descriptions but misinterpreted as errors (also spurred on by already fuming over the qc issues, thus lumped into that category). For what it is though, I think the toy's very successful in the final execution. Unbox's toys have come a long way in just a year even and it's nice to see that they do care about what they're putting out there, with continued progression towards improving their materials and methods (like this community has seen with the Mini Mockbats of late).

Thank you again, Dan. I appreciate what you're doing out there, man.
