 Translucent Toys
i'm finding myself increasingly fixated on translucent toys.
does anyone else have this "problem"?
i find my myself increasingly attracted to anything and everything clear, preferable colored as well.
some of my recent purchases have included more smoking corpses, the clear, red pharoah SS, blobpus innocent and the green and purple majin bander repros. I'm also bidding on the blobpus invader.
i've always loved them but i love em more than ever!!!!
Just curious if anyone else is building up a translucent collection.

I've never had in my possession a 'clear' figure. Although that will change with the rainy day ghostfighter. I do find myself looking at the all clear white figures a lot. I'm not too keen on the SB Bee figures but would like to pick up that mould just for the finish. If that makes sense.

Translucence = more gooder toys.
Recently a few of us over at Toybox DX have been going nuts over translucent cutaway toys. The older and cruddier, the better:

My current holy grails are these awesome Ultraman Crystal Kaiju, which Paul brought to our attention:

This is my favorite find from the past year, a tiny clear model kit of the powered suit from Crusther Joe. The pictures don't show it, but it has a little chrome engine block inside:

Paul, I do searches on multiple terms every week, and not once have I seen any Crystal Kaiju pop up on Yahoo Japan. I am patient, though.
jltohru, there's nothing wrong with lurking over there. After all, we're all jerks. ;p

Actually, I got them at the Yaohan in Los Angeles back in the very early 90's.
Shoulda got more than one case!

I love how cool some of these Translucents can look photographed with light coming through them. My Smoking Squad had a very spectre like smoke look to them. I plan on shooting some more of my Translucents over my Christmas break from work. Henshin, Invaders, clear SB etc... all wanting some experimenting.

Ahhh nice Sub-T!
These are vinyl reproductions of marusan remote control plamodels.
There's one full of plastic money that's oh-so desirable!

subterranean, those Kanegon banks are great (and very apropos). I have 100 5-yen coins that would look good in there. What's inside the yellow one, is that the mechanism for the plamodel?
moriachi, did you actually breathe smoke into that vinyl when you shot it? Even if you didn't, you achieved a really cool effect.

Roger - No smoke at all, all vinyl. The swirly casting pattern of the vinyl came up once back lit. Really suits the toy being the evil side of the cigarette harm gang. Kind of spooky too.

Does the clear Obake have a little bit of pink on the chest VGA? I noticed it on another image I saw too.
Nice pic BTW.

moriachi - Very cool, I guess in this case the flaws contributed to perfection. ;p
vinylglowaddict - That vinyl begs to be filled with glow airsoft pellets.
subterranean - You think? If you have it in hand, find out! Break out the hair dryer and dissect that money-grubbing bastard!
