Post Multi region DVD players
Ok, I've discovered something that will in all likelihood never be made available in a region 1 format, so I have to get something that play region 2 discs. Any advice?

If you can find an old Panasonic RP56 for cheap, I will send you a service disc that can be used to unlock the player. The DVD player will be able to play NTSC DVDs (ie Japanese DVDs), but it still won't be able to play PAL DVDs (ie British DVDs).

um, what is the make and model? there are websites that sell codes/instructs to unlock the dvd players to play all regions. Some players will allow you to temporarily change the region, look in your instructions but you can usually only do this 1nce or twice before it get stucks.

Also you can buy region free dvd players.

i have only read of all of this stuffs on the internets.

Cyber Home ch-dvd 300 this is the best deal and you can change the regions. In the states you can find them at Best Buy and some WAL-Marts, normally around $60 bucks, but alot of times you can find them on sale for around $45.

What is the title? Maybe there is a 'region 0' version out there.

(aka bootleg)

Check with Rick at Drunkenmaster - he knows all about the best ones, and sometimes even sells them. Rick is Blashshyr on here (probably mispelled that as usual)

get yourself a Philips DVP642 DVD Player. You can find it for between $40 - $60 most everywhere. The code for changing regions is easily available on the net. best of all it natively converts pal to ntsc. Aaaaannd it plays xvid, divx or most any other format. So burn your favorite fansubs to a cd or dvd and play away.

this is what I would say. I have 2 of them now after my Korean Malata player crapped out about 2 years ago. both have worked perfectly to play any disc that I've put in them.

+1

skylar is right. we can play anything, no matter what the region or file type.
