so whats the deal with yahoo japan auctions....it seems like it always says seller wont ship international...do you just have to look for one that says it will?

Like eBay (maybe not as bad), you have the exception to the rule where some lame seller doesn't send the goods to Celga. I would think in Japan where the whole reputation thing is taken so seriously, the sellers want to avoid negative feedback.

i've purchased a lot of stuff from YJA and Celga and haven't had any lost packages yet.

suppossedley YJA sellers are super-trustworthy. in about 120 yja transactions never a single problem. Celga prolly has a LOT of clout with their tens of thousands of transactions so if someone burns a Celga customer, adios tamale.

He got hosed on the Ubiq he won. From what I recall Celga met him half way on the loss though.

I've only had one occassion where the seller never sent the item I won to Celga. It was my first auction with them actually! They had enough experience to notice the seller had a bad history and rather than sending payment attempted to contact the seller first. On not hearing from him they pulled the auction and credited my account.

Celga is fantastic.

Yes, I do wonder. I guess the "for some reason" comment was too much for Parka to bear. As far as I know, no one has objectively compared the bidding services. Celga is the preferred service around here for some reason.

I'm not going to act like Celga is the greatest bidding service on the planet when I don't know that to be true. I'm not going to be a Celga cheerleader.

Celga appears to be a competent bidding service. Many of the other bidding services appear to be competent as well.

Ryan-I think all Parka was trying to show was that maybe peeps use them because they stand behind their acounts..I know thats why i use them..But i do hear Rinkya is the tits too..Both offer freebies on occasion..I have 2 Gachaman dolls waiting for me in my hold box from their last giveaway..

Fair enough, but without having heard anything about any of the other bidding services, I have no reason to not think Celga isn't the best. They've done remarkably well for me, and they have excellent customer service.



Based on what? I haven't heard one person tout the virtues of any other bidding service. I know some people use Rinkya, but nobody ever talks about them or their service.

If you think there's a better service than Celga, or if you even think there's another service that's just as good, tell us about it.

You simply said 'people seem to use Celga for some reason'. As if people blindly use them. There's been lots of incidents where Celga have gone above and beyond to help people out. Which I was merely quoting.

Okay, here's a little background regarding the phrase, "for some reason": When someone uses it, the literal meaning is that the speaker (or writer) cannot come up with a reason why something is the way it is. However, it usually carries a deeper meaning, one that implies that there is no good reason for someone to make certain choices. For instance:

"For some reason, people keep buying those cruddy Gundam FIX figures."

or

"She keeps going out with that abusive jerk for some reason."

or

"For some reason, Paul Kaiju insists on skipping through traffic blindfolded while juggling three chainsaws."

This is the meaning that most people here are attributing to your statement that said, "Most people on this forum use Celga for some reason." You may not have intended this to be the meaning, but remember that this is the internet: the true meaning behind words is sometimes hard to convey, and if people can take offense, they will.

However, since this discussion already took place a couple of months ago (using the same phrasing, if I recall correctly), and there was a big stink made, I don't know why you would do the same exact thing again. Hence my rhetorical comment, "Do you wonder why?"

I did compare M-Service to Celga several months ago. It was something about M-Service that did not sit well with me. I think it had to do with the fact that they wanted you to paypal you the entire amount or something before a bid was even made.

When I asked around the board, I got many people that use Celga and are very happy so I jumped on the bandwagon. I have to say that aside from the fees, dubious exchange rate, and sometimes getting outbid by a regular Celga Account, I have nothing but positive things to say about the service.

hmmm, that doesn't sound terribly positive, but i'm happy with Celga!
