Anyone else pick this book up? I just got mine from Amazon.com and I haven't had time to read the text, but the pictures look great, and it covers a bunch of cool companies and artists that most people on this board would appreciate (S7, Pushead, Gargamel, Secret Base, etc...)

I recommend you at least take a look at... :D

This is funny... I just picked up a copy a few hours ago at Barnes and Noble. I have not read it yet but skimmed through to look at the pictures and so far it looks pretty good.

I briefly looked over a preview copy, but have not picked it up yet. Looks very interesting. I expect more to follow as more people discover these toys.

I picked it up, and I have to say, I'm not thrilled with it. Here's why:

1. The production quality is kinda crappy. The cover material is made cardboard, literally...like someone cut it out from the side of a shipping carton and threw on a few stickers. I'm not kidding...
2. It is a book mainly focused on toys, yet the section on Bounty Hunter (one of the originators of the vinyl designer toys craze) just shows a bunch of logos and some pictures that look like ads and only two Kuns mixed in.
3. The Pushead section shows mostly the handpainted figures, which is pretty cool to see, but in the end...it just shows a bunch of toys that only a handful of people can actually own. Also, it shows only the SB and KAWS stuff (and a Cococroc), and we all know Pus has done a hell of a lot more toys than that.
4. Some of the sections have a lot of text, with a history and description of the artist, yet others sections just have a bunch of photos. If I was new to toy collecting, I would gain only random tidbits from this book.

I don't want you guys to think I'm bashing everything about this book. All in all, I actually like it, and I think it is definitely better than the 'I Am Plastic' book that came out not too long ago. I just wish it was something that more informative and comprihensive.
