 StrangeCo.
These guys are in San Francisco on Haight Street. Are they a shop front or just a head office?
Also, anyone from outside of America ordered from thier online retail store (not the wholesale section)?

I have - a long time ago.
They e-mailed me back concerning what shipping costs would be and it was more than the figure itself! I bitched about it and apparently they only had one option for international shipping, hence the stupid price.
What was really cool though was that the guy that I dealt with agreed to have the item shipped to him (from the warehouse to the office) and then ship it to me personally. In the end my shipping fees went from the original $40 to $13. All said and done this was some of the best customer service I have ever experienced - second to S7 of course.

Yeah, that's what I'm affraid of. Seems they have a hefty $20 handling fee and ship with UPS. They basically use the international wholesale shipping policy for their international retail shipping too by the look.
Cheers for the feedback.

Too bad about the international shipping...

the shop on haight is not a retail store
it is their companies headquarters where they do all their business and all of their product designing, etc

I just picked up the second half of the Mars-1 grayscale Invisible Plan set from their online webstore a couple of days ago (got the first six figs previously).

jim from strangeco here - thought I'd chime in on the international shipping stuff. Our Overseas Shipping Policy applies to wholesale sales, which is our main business, but not to retail sales. Our site is geared way more for wholesale orders than retail, so I can understand the confusion - sorry about that. But don't worry, we don't charge the $20 handling fee for retail orders.
We've also begun offering USPS Express Mail Service for international shipments, which can indeed be cheaper than UPS (especially with how the insane price of fuel is changing freight costs all around). As a forewarning, USPS is the government, which means that if shipments get lost they're nearly impossible to get traced and recovered. But, it is cheaper.
Let me know if you've got any more questions about how all of this works.

Hello Jim, welcome to the board!
Any idea regarding when we can expect to see the release of Jim Woodring's Mr. Bumper figure?
It looks absolutely incredible - I've had ants in my pants ever since I caught my first glimpse of it back in April.
Thanks!

I love strangeco, I would guess 30% or more of my western vinyl toys have something to do with your company: Dorbel, Dero, Squire, Tigerbaby, Glamour Cat, Mars-1. You guys rule. Welcome to the board.

I tell ya, I can't wait to see what colorways they've come up with for Bumper...the possibilities are just boggling, with such a complex design...I'm really, really hoping we see at least one version that employs translucent vinyl, either in the cowl, Bumper himself, or both......

Thanks all for the positive comments, and the welcome to this board.
Mr. Bumper is taking longer than expected, but it's basically two toys in one and is pretty elaborate overall. I think it will be worth the wait. We're pushing it through as fast as we can, which means that it is likely to be shipping from our warehouse in the very early Fall.

I know it's worth the wait and hope my question didn't seem ungrateful or impatient - I'm just curious in my excitement and am ready to place pre-order after pre-order! Hotcha!
Thanks so much to the great folks at StrangeCo for continuing to produce such items! Yow!
