selling on friday.

i am going to Mongkok and line up, beg, sell my soul or do anything. There are only 1000 of these and I have to get one! I am sure the prices are already jacked up.

What is Mongkok and how will they have them?
I thought they were an OF release??

Sorry I missed this. Mongkok is the area where most of the toyshops are in Hong Kong. HK and Japan have a close link up with toy business so its easy to get them here, but you have to be fast. Collectors here are crazy.

hey kid if u could possibly pm me the name of the shop in mongkok.
would only give it to a friend who is just visiting hong kong.
and kaws infected too.

...if u do so promise will let everyone know in the pogue contest thread!!!

btw hong kong is great. been there back in the days when it was british.
impressed by the streetlife at night with the street-kitchens.
caged animals (frogs, snakes, etc.) on the sidewalks in front of
the restaurants was weird. remember the loud sound coming out of the
domino halls which was also pretty cool too.

Missed the print sale but I sat for a good three minutes marveling that there were three actual items AVAILABLE for the first time since I started going to Kawsone (I tried in vain to get the Green GID Companion a year or so ago). I put two pillows in my basket and came to my senses and bailed. If I'm going to make an oversized overpriced purchase it's going to be those dissected Companions damnit!

I had to check in earlier today, thinking they might sneak in a figure. Oh well. Print was too rich for my blood. Got an email from Jeff Soto's domain with some a couple of nice (and affordable) prints. Still may have to save some cash for the dissected figure, now that it appears to be a second market transaction for sure.

Honestly, I'd rather have a painting from LamourSupreme. And KAWS is one of my favorite artists!

Serioulsy, I mean:

I love KAWS, but the last several prints have been incredibly boring. Hell, his last paintings that I've seen have been pretty lame. I don't see anything artistic about this Dissected print - the execution of it is pretty cool, but the image is uninspired.
So yeah, I'd much rather have an LS painting as there's a lot of work/style involved and the images are always captivating.
Or if I wanted a print I'd go with a Takashi Murakami or Chiho Aoshima (I REALLY want an Aoshima print!). I think I'll only buy prints from artists who ONLY work in the print medium (those who don't sell original paintings).

No offence but did LS invent the Bemon? If he did God Bless him.

Kidclam I totally understand your point. On the otherside Pushead did'nt invent Devilman, but he pimped out Go Nagai's character. I think it just comes down to relative worth VS energy put out = the final outcome.

I totally understand your side too. It's so hard comparing 2 artworks from different artists side by side? Like a intense Pollock vs a quiet Mondrian... it's hard to see which is worthy of more credit. I am not inputting my preferred choice to anything, just feel we have to look both ways before deciding. I guess it's all relative to taste.

Exactly, I love Lamours Bemon piece. The new Kaws print rocks my socks, I love the simplicity of it.

You can see more pics of it here: http://www.skullbrain.org/bb/viewtopic.php?t=4537

I'll also try to find the pics where Mori is holding it. :D

Yeah I remember seeing this. Both Bemon and Chaos is amazing. Do you really mean he designed the figure too? The one that I have been lovingly stroking it ever since I got it? I am a bit confused yet excited... :P

I don't think I saw that Bemon one before, at least not finished, that has to be one of my favorite pictures ever, I can't even believe how awesome it is, the colors, the slime city, the jet fighters, the bemon killing everything!! I can't even believe that.

Yup, looks more like a blueprint for the figure, nothing more. Almost like a bonus. Lamour's stuff is artwork.

It's probably Superman Toys in the CTMA building in Mong Kok....they usually get all the Medicom stuff and have them on preorder.
