the head looks weird in proportion to the body to me. Could just be the lighting, but the real version doesn't look "stout" (for lack of a better term)

I could tell right away. The figure is 10% smaller than an original. The detail was spot on. The weight was off. The seller said he was sorry to hear that I was un-happy with the purchase. he said he would re-fund me once he got the bootleg back. He went on to assure me it was 100% authentic. I wonder how many more kvp bootlegs are out there?

I was intrigued by the 500YL - so I bought one off a HK seller on ebay a few weeks back. $199 +$35 shipping. It's interesting and doesnt look too bad close-up, and the arms arent wonky, but it does have a severe forward lean. Hope against hope I thought it might be pretty close to the OG - but it is slimmer, and I think is based off those other 5YL boots. It is articulated in all teh same places, and has an extra articulation at the waist where it twists. It also smells a bit too vinyly.

But in the end, comparing it to the OG's, I cant display it with them. You get what you pay for, or less in this case - and $234 for this guy was money I regret spending. Maybe if it had been closer to a $100 and I didnt have the OG's it would have been a lower cost compromise...but I do, and this doesnt work for me.

I was thinking of re-listing him on the bay for half what i paid rather than having another toy in a box. We'll see if I get around to it.

it was never authentic in the 1st place.. that guy must have bought off in China.. there are tons of kvp sold over there, in different shade of color.. so are the chums (really well made seeing 1st hand in malaysia) and 500yl companions..

Ive wanted a KvP custom from Motorbot or Pike for a bit now, but it's cost prohibitive with the rising prices... I dont know how much shame I'd feel for buying a cheap bootleg for customizing... though the ones Im seeing on the bay seem to be either authentic or boots that they're charging an arm and a leg for.
