Re: Munktiki Yakimon Ceramic Figures
What do you mean when you say:
"Its a non functional numbered limited edition figure"?

"Its a non functional numbered limited edition figure"? It's non functional in that its not a vessel, it's just a sculptural figure. It's numbered but not a with a specific edition number. The final number of pieces is based on two things, the life of the mold which won't exceed 150 and my own interest on continuing its production up to the life of the mold.

Re: Munktiki Yakimon Ceramic Figures
This stuff is kicking most vinyl dolly's in the pants from a sculptural/concept perspective, there's not a duff colourway amongst them, it has to be way trickier/riskier to produce and create than trimming vinyl/breaking out the hairdryer and you're selling unique 1-offs for the same price other guys are charging for regular releases in vinyl!
You need to go to the Mishka-Kozik School of Marketing or get these puppies vinylised for the masses!
Great werk fella!

Re: Munktiki Yakimon Ceramic Figures
Thanks Andy! Yeah each one is definitely time consuming. Unlike vinyl I have seams to clean and with each figure needing multiple multi piece molds its a lot of seams. Scariest part is putting all the time into a piece and then screwing up the glaze. Sometimes there are ways to coverup but most of the time it'll just be garbage. Fuck-ups go in my collection Vinyl is slowly in the process

Re: Munktiki Yakimon Ceramic Figures
This is a wonderful thing. Not even sure what to call it! Toy? Statute? Refer to it as sculpt? Object... what ever it is... wow! I posed it next to two other toys because before getting it I wasn't sure of the dimensions.

Fantastic glaze colors, and I'm still bowled over by your sculpts.

Re: Yakimon Ceramic Figures
Loving the new head sculpts. That middle guy especially is touching me in all the right (wrong) areas. The face is just great, but added to that paint scheme with just the right amount of subtle colouring is fantastic! I would be interested to know, since no one has really brought it up except for that one unfortunate time, how people faired that might have ordered these online? (i.e. I am concerned with regards to the shipping)

Re: Yakimon Ceramic Figures
Thanks for that Rob. I really would have liked to order one of the ceramic guys from the TAG show, but was really worried about breakage and international shipping on these guys. It is good to know that that was an isolated incident so far. I definitely want some ceramic Munktiki in my life.
EDIT: Dang, I just see now that the Feejee headed ape is sold already, congrats to a lucky buyer!

Re: Yakimon Ceramic Figures
Yeah I wouldn't worry too much. If there is breakage you'll be covered and get a replacement. Breakage does suck though, while its no prob to make another it always hurts a little when one breaks after all the work I put into it. I want sales to go well for galleries but if your ever in doubt go direct, I've been shipping ceramic wares for 20+ years
