Re: Yakimon Ceramic Figures
The Fiji Ape is amazing in person. I got the 1st green 1 and was blown away by it. The color on this new 1 was really good too. Based on how quickly the 2 sold I'm guessing Miles will be making more.
I'll add to Rob's comments. I have bought quite a few pieces from Munktiki and all have been packed and shipped very well.

Yeah I'll be making more feejee apes for sure I've got new heads in the works too, as well as close to starting on a new figure. Btw I'm pulling this "Yakimon" line away from Munktiki to be its own entity. I have a meeting today for the development of the new Yaki-mon.com website

Re: Yakimon Ceramic Figures
I got a couple of Mile's Yakimons and they are absolutely gorgeous. A lot of subtle details dun really show up well (or at all) in pictures and they are much larger than they appear to be heh.
One of my items cracked badly during shipping from a 3rd party (not Miles/TAG) but it's always part and parcel of shipping ceramics, which I believe with Mile's years of packing and shipping ceramics is greatly minimized. and I think it's definitely well worth the small risk for getting these awesome ceramics.
Compared to other crazy expensive stuff I see being hawked around everyday, these are really affordable for the endless fun and visual joy they give me.

Re: Yakimon Ceramic Figures
The new http://www.yaki-mon.com/ website is up and rolling. I put in stock the first Mecha Dokuro Ape fresh outta the kiln. Tomorrow I'll be listing two rad mashups and colorways in editions of 5. One is a Takoshi/Ape tribute to Dr. Gori and the other a psychedelic Ape. Super excited to show these two tomorrow. Btw Ive got my store set up for now with a 10% discount to Skullbrainers... just type in "skullbrainer". Thanks for all the thumb ups!!

Love the new site design. That Mecha Dokuro Ape is stunning. I love the simplified, traditional colours you are using. This guy is a gem, and has a real 'vintage' feel.

Ultra999 wrote: dr gori! had you planned on this mash-up from the beginning? regardless: genious. I hadnt planned it at all. Ive been sitting on the mash-up for a couple weeks trying to figure out the glaze. It finally hit me that Gori was what I needed to do. Huge thanks to everyone who snagged something today. Only a couple Gori's left out of the batch, but more will come.

Re: Yakimon Ceramic Figures
Man, they all are great! I like that the Yakimon figures have their own site now and the shop header is really nice too.
Who is the Pester looking guy in the header drawing? Have you already done a figure of him that I hadn't noticed, or is he one in the works?
I'm super excited for the guy heading my way!

Miles, the Dr, Gori is so cool. If any of those make it down TAG's way I'm buying the first one out of the box.

The mutton chomper head is insanely great. I also like that he looks like he's filled with lava.

Re: Yakimon Ceramic Figures
I should have said, any more vinyl. I've already got the green Takoishi. A painted Takoshi, or just a huge run of Ikakumora would be spiffy.
