Re: misfortune cat
I wouldn't buy it, but I would have no fear of it being in my house.

Re: misfortune cat
The kanji in the illustration is okay, probably pulled from a font, but the character on the sculpt looks weird and unbalanced...

Re: misfortune cat
I get the knife in the head, unlucky, but why 3 eyes? I know you can say the same about the RxH one, "why 1 eye?" but that's the idea with that one. This one's idea is "it's UNlucky, get it?" but how do 3 eyes translate into being unlucky? It just seems like a forced attempt to be "whacky" or something.

There is no such thing as fortune, mojo, juju, or karma! Don't let superstitions stand in the way of toys. Don't buy it cause it sucks. Not cause it is keeping out the good humors!

I would agree with Bert on the four being more appropriate. While I've seen lots of variations of the maneki neko (Kero Keroppi being the best ever), most of them are still in a good and gentle spirit. Wacky or silly, but not just an outright abomination like this. This would be a bumpersticker or car plaque at best, not a toy. Man, I'm bitchy when you mess with cats. Er...catty?

Re: misfortune cat
I think its great personally, and the 3 eyes is a stylistic thing that ferg has done on a lot of toys.

Re: misfortune cat
suicide king is my favorite card in the deck. that's the only feature I like about this toy. if the cat itself looked more cat-like, maybe it would be okay. as it stands now, it's not on the "to buy" list.

Re: misfortune cat
LOL!
FYI the three eyes is a fairly common thing in asian mythology. The Jigan, third eye, all seeing eye, etc.
