Everyone's entitled to their opinions. Flores and Bigfoot One are two artists that originally opened my eyes to vinyl toys. I still appreciate their artwork full heartedly, but have moved away from stocking Western vinyl in my home. Just doesn't appeal to me aesthetically anymore. But hey, to some people, it still does.

You guys seem to have done a complete analysis of me based on one comment that I made about a toy, someone made a comment that tigerbaby or fatima would be more acceptable here they were actually nice in the way that they said it so I'm not trying to be a dick but I couldn't figure out why those sculpts were fine, and a boy being eaten by a dragon wasn't, then I remembered that Leecifur (whose work I love BTW) was painting the hell out of those guys back in the day... So my theory is that a lot of opinions are based on what people think will be accepted. Leecifur just painted the Honoo Flame, Leecifur Painted a Tigerbaby, Tigerbaby=Pass.

People are afraid to post anything here except for the same old pieces by artists they know will be embraced for fear of ridicule... That really sucks, because when that happens the water gets stagnant and eventually people stop drinking it completely. I know this is hard to hear but this place isn't going to be as exclusive as it was in the past, you don't think Le Merde doing a [expletive deleted] is going to have people swarming all over this forum trying to get in? You think his work is hard to get ahold of now, (the last release was sold out everywhere, in what 1 or 2 hours?) Just wait till the [expletive deleted] kids get their heads wrapped around him... Wouldn't it be great if Super7 had only sold their stuff to one person here and that person could have the most exclusive toy every and have his own little fan club made up of only one member, and it was so cool because he was the only one who knew about it.. As an artist and sculptor myself, I believe that's the opposite of what we strive for, I would love it if everyone could own a piece of my art, if it's a toy, or painting, or doodle, I don't care, if you like it I want you to be able to get it...

You just need to realize that Kaiju is really appealing to Americans, mainly because we all grew up with monsters we even have a holiday dedicated to them. So when others see them of course they're going to love them. There are more Kaiju lovers in the world than the people here on skullbrain (at least I hope there is) I'm really sorry I haven't been here since you opened up shop, but at the same time, there will be more like me, and at least I'm knowledgeable about a lot of the Artist's here (My favorite Zippo I've ever owned was a Coop Devil. Petibon is a god (I know he doesn't make toys, but wouldn't it be cool if he did?) and Balzac floats my boat like no other)...

It's like that part in Dances with Wolves where the Native American is talking to Kevin Costner about the White Man invading their land, and thinking if they just killed enough the rest would get scared and go away. If you would have read my "rant" you would realize that I apologized for posting this here and asked for it to be deleted, meaning that I took the time to find out what the board is about and realized that I shouldn't have posted this here.

Albeit once again I'll state that I did read through the boards and search the dragon in the first place to see if anyone would be interested in the SF piece, and although there wasn't a lot, the Kid Dragon statue had been mentioned before, and nobody said anything bad about the original post. In fact all I read were people saying things like "I don't usually go for western art but it's pretty good".

O.k. What led me here initially was a neo Kaiju piece by Biskup (Birduzasu)that I've wanted for years now... A guy from the toybreak forums said he saw it here and the only way I could get at it was to it was to sign up. I didn't realize being opinionated was one of the criteria to be in the cool club, and maybe your right maybe I shouldn't be here, I don't thrive on starting controversy with people that like other things, there are other places to talk to people about Kaiju, I just like the fact that people here are super trustworthy, honest about pricing, and here for the love of it, not for the money aspect.

You can think whatever you like about the stuff I collect, and I don't really care. I'll collect Monster Family all day long if I want to, thereby supporting super7, thereby giving money to the people who keep this site running for people who want to act like mean girls to other's. If I ever rip someone off, Sell things on here for ridiculously high prices, or buy things with the sole purpose of selling them, by all means call me out on it, ban me, whatever, but for gods sake... We all collect different things and many if not most people on this board have some or lots of western toys on their shelves.

Continue to bring up "news" that you deem relevant. If people don't like it, they will let you know and we can have another interesting conversation.
