I see this as a huge paint challenge, I'm sure I'll end up with one in my booth eventually.

Ron has made quite a few toys, some better than others, and has used several mediums. I always liked the supersize figures he did with Secret Base. Also his paintings are pretty damn amazing.

I feel bad for the people cutting the flash...unless it is Ron English himself

Cutting it, painting a stupid grin on it, and selling it for couple hundred each.

I might, but why blow on the smouldering embers

So this is why my bone Usir head has been sitting at the factory for 6 months :?

I think Ron is a talented technical painter, and some of his toys work very well, but this seems like it was engineered just to hold a new guiness record of most articulated sofubi. If all you care about is articulation try to get some revoltech collabs going.

I'm sure this cost a fortune to produce...bold move TAG, but from what I know Ron English has his diehard people who will buy everything he makes so I'm sure they will sell ok...maybe

Yes it is. And Aya rocks. Not too sure why she was brought up here though?

cant even imagine how much this is going to cost with all the work involved. had to be extremely annoying for whoever had to sculpt the little dudes over and over again too.

My rough layman's estimate is 40 hours of paintwork minimum, which should add up to a retail price of about $8000. And yes, I will gladly assist with pricing advice on YOUR future "SOFUBI" project for a marginal fee (gifted, please)!

I've heard under $300 unpainted and around $350 painted.. Not bad considering it is a 15 inch toy with what 28 bits of articulation??

Whew, if this thing isn't widely successful they will never recoup costs.

I'm not digging this at all, really... I love Ron English the painter, but toy-designer, not so much.

Kind of bummed that this thing probably has delayed a lot of better toys in the pipeline from other indie makers

Gino just posted up another picture of this guy and I think it looks great! I like the idea that this huge guy has these little critters that would pop off and attack whatever obstacles it faces.. You're pretty much getting a huge dinosaur kaiju with a couple of handfuls of cool little mini finger puppet style figures. It's cool to see something a little different

Is there a gif out there of a guy shooting himself while laughing and vomiting at the same time? Because I would really like to post something along those lines.

In other news, that Godzilla next to it is rad, I just bought one for my nephew and it spits a blue flame and lights up. Not at all Japanese vinyl but cool nonetheless.
