it's cool though. whatever floats your indie canadian twins. That's true. Warhammer is really the only thing I dig with skulls that prominent in it, and truth be told, I tend to play down the skulls on my models. I much prefer the eagle and angel motifs on the Marines.

rhinomilk wrote: JORDAN23 wrote: I appreciate a good discussion with opposing view points but all this ass kissing and hyperbole make me wanna puke. & we're left with.. After mostly lurking SB for the past six months, I see the majority of comments on here seem to be praise for specific toys, with criticism being second most common. (I know I'm stating the obvious.) So does all that praise constitute ass kissing, or is that only the case when it's praise in the creator's own thread, that the creator can see? Personally speaking, I support John and his work because he's local, my friend, and I like what he makes, but I wouldn't consider that ass kissing and I'm not blindly or uncritically in love with everything he's done. (I'm trying not to sound defensive, but probably do. Sorry.) Case in point, these Sludges -- I like his paint schemes and the skeleton arms, but rooted hair gives me the heebie-jeebies; I'd prefer to see them beardless. (No hairy Nags for me.) And the Siamese doesn't do a lot for me. So despite my support for John and liking Sludge Demons in general, I'm still undecided if I'd go for one of these, given the chance. BTW, I'm not a big enough fan of Pushead (and thus not familiar enough with his work) to participate in the "homage vs knock off" discussion these figures have raised -- wish I were, but if I were I don't think I'd care that much in this case. I like straw and jars, though . . .

Re: MVH Sludge Demon
its really ok, look inside to each his own. if a small batch of sideshow freaks in jars ruffles some feathers fuckers aint seen nothin yet. MVH had no idea what i was doing to his figures so i chose to provide reference to the legacy of dark carnival aethetic, i do NOT disagree with anything nor challenge any right to think what one wants however while i can obvioulsly say Pushead has had great influence on me, dark carnival aspect has had much more of an impact on me personally. i saw the movie 'Freaks' as a child in the early 1970s i think i was five or six years old & i own an original William Lindsay Gresham. also this aint my 1st 'carny' output and will not be the last, i did it because thats the stuff i like.. not to seek the acceptance of a preceived audience or capture the attention of another artists fan. so seriously i aint pissed or disappointed whatsoever, i just assumed some folks had zero knowledge of dark carnivals or marbled vinyl both of which i hope many many more artists and companies produce output from. honestly part of my true personal appreciation of Pushead or anyone whom i enjoy their output is realizing the legacy of what it is a part of. digging deeper to see what created them is always a free edjucation into worlds you never knew existed. you are then fascinated by these things so you have no choice but to reflect the effects of this influenza through art be it sculpture, painting, cinema or music. 'influence is an infection, let it scab and see what new surface will appear.' besides isnt this true with everthing Pus creates, he does it to give not to receive why else would he or any artist offer their craft to the public or should they act mortified by a gleaned mutual influence? having met the man i have seriously no reason to think he would be challenged by this meager output of 8 toys even if they are in a similar vein to a few of his offerings. its odd to think any artist would feel challenged by a continuity of shared influence. thanx to everyone who has commented good or bad, or ugly its all a continued reflection of whom we all are in this small point of mutual enjoyment.. thanx: MVH Monster Worship Velocitron Secret Base Pushead Gargamel Bemon Longneck Target Earth Amapro Marmit M1-Go Super 7 Skullbrain Mark Nagata Joe Coleman Jeff Lamm Glenn Danzig William S Burroughs Edgar Poe HP Lovecraft Giger Hideshi Hino Tod Browning Lon Chaney Sr. Ray Harryhausen Forrest J Ackerman Anton LaVey William Lindsay Gresham PT Barnum Satan God whomeverelse i may have not mentioned. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6soziGhCc50

The pin heads are flat, so when it's sort of dark and the light hits em they reflect as they are bare metal. Sort of like Riddick from pitch black. And I had no clue it stood so well until John did this. Weird how stuff like this happens but always awesome !

And I think misread you, it's only the one pin not double pinned.
Sorry about that

Sorry about that It's cool dude, It just looked two of the pins you always use side by side like a mutated double pupil. The flat pin sounds cool though.

I think it would be pretty rad. especially if just one eye had it and the other had a single.
