Re: Non- Vinyl American toys
the akira and tenchi muyo! stuff is awesome! i've always wanted to get some of that junk, but there is waaay more junk that tops my list. are those motu figs the ones based on the cn toon? where the head and necks jut straight out from the middle of the torso (slight exagerration) of a steroid body? i never dug those. at all. other than that, tons of rad stuff!

[quote=" The Devil Warriors in the back and the guy in the army suit with the skull head were kind of along those lines I think: [/quote] When and where were those devil warriors sold. I've only seen them on line. Could ya show somw more fliks of them? And do I see mad scientist toys down there. I had the scientist that looked like Larry David and the acid tank that burns off the monsters skin.

Re: Non- Vinyl American toys
I have no idea on the real origins of the Devil Warriors, I just got these from some guy on another message board, I'll try to get some more pics up sometime...
I still don't have a dissect an alien, I really want the Japanese version in box. The Japanese versions and spinoffs of American toys are even better than American toys.

Re: Non- Vinyl American toys
I used to have some but I can't find them anywhere now, I'll post up if I find them. I was bidding on a lot sale of the whole range of Japanese Mad scientist toys on YJA a couple years ago and got sniped on it. I think the whole line was released in Japan but with cooler looking packaging + the additional things like those super deformed monsters (I finally managed to grab some from a skullbrainer a little while ago, thanks man!) and a playset for them that oozed slime and shit, so fucking cool. There used to be some great pics of it up on Nerd one a while ago, not sure if there still on it though... Here's my East meets West shelf....

Re: Non- Vinyl American toys
i've been checking out and contemplating these new(er) classics figs since sanjeev reminded me of them in my motu wanted listing. but damn, they are spendy! it's almost cheaper to collect the vintage stuff...this tri-klops and the faker look sweet though. anyone collect the horsemen mini-statues? statues are generally weak compared to some good ol' articulation, but i have to admit they are always great eye candy!

Re: Non- Vinyl American toys
The Four Horsemen NECA Mini Statues are beautiful. I have a few. But, like an idiot, I passed on picking up most of the later ones, and now those guys are next to impossible to find. However, the Tung Lashor and Clawful statues are two of the nicest ones that they did, and those are quite common.

Re: Non- Vinyl American toys
I'm just NOT into the new MOTU line, too nice. I like the way weird out of proportion originals. They are better than the other 2 MOTU lines that came out prior (the fake-anime esque one from 5 years back or so and the horrid/forgotten second line which came out a few years after the originals.)

One of the only great Mcfarlane toys. Heap! One of the few Mac toys that didn't fall apart after it was opened.

Re: Non- Vinyl American toys
i love muckman, but i was always wondering if the whole in his chest has some type of cover piece needed. i know the head has a banana peel blob cap to fill in the hole, but what about the chest. nonetheless, i need both, and all the other accessories, and maybe a new paint job. i think i may be better off finding a completed one and buying it again instead of my $0.25 garage sale find....

I would like to see more lowlevel companies put out toys similar to the popular stuff. Ya know? Not bootleg but homage figs. those motu knock-offs are INSANE.

This thread makes me want to fly back to my parents and go through all my old toys. Ah memories.

Re: Non- Vinyl American toys
i think there should be an action figure section in american idols instead of krotch rot (within skullbrain taste, of course), since it seems a lot of folks here dig the stuff...

Re: Non- Vinyl American toys
I honestly think that there needs to be an entire online community for people with Skullbrain-like tastes that focuses on action figures. BTW- Speaking of Sunman, here's my fav. from that line, Pig-Face (the dude on the left):
