The general consenus of the haters who lurk this thread? Because obviously the market is fine with the price point because it sells out. Your basically just saying because u dont like the sculpt that it has no value, which i think is unfair. Mark is a talented painter, does he not deserve the money he is asking? You can not like a toy, or a paintjob thats all good but doesnt change the fact the price point is fair.

I dont want to argue with people or start a war so im goong to agree to disagree

I don't want to argue with people that can't type a cohesive sentence, but just for shits and giggles . . .

Sculpted by a high profile Japanese sculptor, independently produced by a dude living in Japan and painted by a high profile Japanese painter . . . retailed for $42.00!

Now THAT seems more like a 'fair' price to me!

Just because theres toys that are cheaper or a better deal doesnt mean the beet is technically overpriced. Grodys toys are like $30-40 too, so what? How about all the toys that are more expensive? That last unpainted toy i bought retail was a motuko and was ~$90, the ultrus bog blank open run preorder (that got cancelled however) was $75. Those are the examples that come to me off the top my head

You dont like the toy in general andy so u would think any price is too high. Even though i said i wouldnt argue u sucessfully baited me in by basically calling me stupid, congrats!

Out of all the board members that are talking crap, Andy gets a pass.

Only because he's funny and knows how to take a joke as well.

And he usually has a point, usually.

I have no problem with andy and feel people on the board should say how ever they feel about something but i guess i just dont see a point of belittleing something or trying to devalue someones time/effort/work espeically when it comes to respected painters like nagata and the work they put in. We all know people dont like this toy, or how scott presented it here, but i dont see why the price should at all be an issue: take those complaints to the "hyped" threads!

Motuko and Ultrus Bog are 2 complicated sculpts with well known artists as designers. When you get an established artist to design a toy, that garners extra value associated with their name and style. Who designed the beet?

Luke's (not Grody's) Grody Shogun toys were priced as fairly as possible to show the respect that Luke has for the sofubi toy world and the craftsman who came before him. As an upstart in the toy world, the makers of this beet might have done well to follow this example.

Wow a reasonable price tag for a painted release, that's how you get Grody!

At least Grody is not trying to rape someone with the price point. Still, $70 for a POS?

Got the price right, maybe the sculpt will be next, huh?
