that bootleg line looks promising. i just hope they don't ask vintage prices! i remember some company a year or so ago that had made some fantasy style figures that followed the motu style. they looked pretty good, and i was going to hunt them down, even though i got word that the quality was poor. then i found out they were asking like $50 each! insane for an action figure imo...i will definitely keep up on checking that fb link.

remco is definitely the crown jewel of the motu-knock off figures (KOs in general?), the conan line is great. carded those go for bucks.
we also really like the robot defenders and robot renegades:

the robot defenders/renegades are great dudes if you can find them.

yeah, conan fetches nasty prices! well, i don't know if they actually sell at those high prices, i just know that ebay sellers list the things super high. hold out long enough though, someone will list one somewhere for reasonable. i paid $20 shipped for a moc conan thoth amon, and recently got a moc king conan for $50. the cards were trashed, but i tear them open anyways, its nice to have a minty fresh vintage action figure! :D

Post Re: Non- Vinyl American toys
here is some more random action figure info:

i just got 2 more Two Faces Devil figures in today. the head sculpt is similar to the mannix monster warrior two-face warriors, same with the paint scheme on the chest area, but the overall figure is yet another line of motu ko's. The quality is a mumbled mess. the heads are very nice, solid instead of squishy (i love me some rubber heads), but the detail (at least on the "beast" side) is pretty nice, with decent paint. the chest is hollow, light weight plastic. i was assuming that from the waist down, it was going to be like galaxy heroes figures, based on the photos i have seen on the net. they are not, the legs are actually jointed at the crotch socket. still can't really move the legs though. the crotch socket is smaller than the top of the legs, so the legs don't fit in there properly. this wouldn't be a problem if they were rubber band jointed like motu, but they have the white plastic ball joint like remco warrior beasts/tmnt. so any attempt at moving them in a suitable standing position was a little scary, fearing i would break a leg joint! the weapons are pretty awesome, skull dude and pig dude have extremely flexible rubber staffs, good detail on the skull staff, and painted too! bird face has a pathetic light plastic piece of crap for a sword. unless there are some paint variations i have not seen, there are only 4 figures in the set. i'm missing pony face. the back of the cardback is blank white, so there isn't a list of "collect them all!" pictures, and i have only seen pics of the 4 that are in the drawing on the front of the card back.

Strike Fighter is AWESOME!!!! I know I had some crazy MOTU style knock offs when I was a kid. I don't have them anymore. I love the stuff that you have been picking up lately. I love these types of knockoffs and obscure lines.

They're goofy as shit. Haha, they can only stand on one foot because their feet are so big. they do pull back and move forward though. Thats kinda cool.

I've been picking these wonderful buggers up at our local thriftway grocery, the pink wizard is a bootleg of the old imaginext wizards. The skeletal dragon is a boot of the skeleton warriors dragon, not yet sure abou thte rest however they look very much like motu KOs at a small scale. especially that ramman lookin bugger, and the green skullface guy.

Excuse the crappy mobile pics, I'll upload better ones tonight.

Thanks. I actually just posted on your flickr account. I hate the new donkey kong toys but this is perfect.

I wish I could find a 'dirk the daring' figure for cheap as well.

Beware the Beast Man!

Apes Attacks! update. i recently picked up full sets of series 1 & 2. well, i believe they are complete sets. the package says "collect them all!" but there is no way of knowing if you have them all or not. the cardback is blank. anyways, i plan on keeping 1 from each set moc and busting open the rest. which will be hard, for at least series 1, because all the packages are equally trashed. here is series 1:
Image
the neon artwork is amazing, the figure-formed bubble packaging isn't. the material of the plastic is so cheap and brittle that most have cracks everywhere. its a good thing i'm a loose figure collector!

and here is series 2, aka "Deluxe Edition":
Image
i'm assuming deluxe means that each figure is packaged with 2 weapons instead of 1, and some have a black plastic armor piece on their arm. because, as far as the figures go, they seem to only be repaints of the series 1 figures. i'm really digging the black outfit dude with the black chainmail head-piece accessory! some of the weapons in each set i don't think will fit properly in the hands. the weapon hole is on the fist, and some of the sword/knife/bladed things have hilts similar to a he-man sword, where a gap between thumb and fingers would be needed. once i bust these out of packaging, i'll get some shots of each of them.

first there were Galaxy Warriors (sungold), and then there were Galaxy Warriors (woolworths/small world), somewhere in there we had Warriors of the Galaxy (marty toy), and then sungold pulled a Wes Craven's New Nightmare and put a stop to the epicness of GW with Galaxy Warriors: End of Time/Last Battle! This last series is a grail of mine, happy to add these 2 fellers to the collection!

I'm sorry--I just can't picture Skeletor driving around in a station wagon!

nefasth, we were discussing Automoblox ages ago on TBDX, but I don't think anyone got any over there. Great to hear that they're well made. If you get more, be sure to post pics of 'em!

Now that I'm reminded of these again, I may have to revisit picking some up...

The reason why I think these r great are the reasons why I would have hated them as a kid. The black guy has a head that is too big and goofy for his body and the other guy looks like an elf with a yellow butterfly chest armor. Awesome.
