Skinner, I can totally understand your fustration. But I'm sure I'm not the only one here that would kill KILL for a standard size full figure from you. Personally I would love to see both and most definitely your original concept. But please , if this is a full figure don't kill this project. I think that at some point after the bust is to get made you would probably do a figure any ways, at lest we all hope, right ?

And be scuplted by siccaluna is only making the awesome factor shoot through the roof.

Ugh just saw this thread this morning. I work with both Skinner and Lulubell and know that both are stand up guys. I dont want to take sides, I just hope they can work this out..

bust or figure?

If it's some kind of three part bust initially that can configure itself into a full figure Voltron style, that would be interesting, but I don't see how it could be made that way without just initially looking like a head and two arms.

I usually hate busts, but for this, I'm in; it doesn't have a standard bust form at all and was pretty awesome looking. Full figure? I'm easily out as it just wouldn't fit in with my collection at all. I really hope the situation gets fixed so that it's the bust that's released as it's actually something original for once and was executed incredibly well whereas a figure would just be well... yet another figure...

I wanted to stay off this thread but I can't since Skinner is such a good friend. So wrong! Major FAIL.

Wow. I'm going to go ahead and predict right now that due to the miscommunication and drama around this project, that it will never see the light of day. I would like to be proven wrong, of course.

With that being said, figure > bust, any day of the week.

Well...I know this has been a very convoluted and surreal instance in this vinyl/ kaiju arena...and I certainly was hoping for a smoother entrance into it...but here is a breakdown of where it stands now...
I woke up this morning to an email from Luke with no subject listed and a photograph attachment to it of the current look of the sculpt in progress......I was hoping for my first full figure to be really detailed and true to the original art that I had submitted, and well the photo Luke sent me was incredible..I then replied to him and said ,'' we need to have a talk"..He skyped me he let me in on all that has been transpiring with him and his relationship with siccaluna....I sit here typing now to say that The contract I had set in place with LuluBell was one where there was some wiggle room for them to make decisions in regards to the actual figure but that it was mainly to be an artist driven project where I primarily call the shots and that IF they chose a different avenue within the realm of the agreement, that they would be held accountable to an even bigger project with more scope..Luke had in fact let me believe that A bust like, Giant figure was going to be made in secret...Luke was banking on the fact that I was a very open and chatty dude and can't hold secrets well...The idea being that the first "reveal" was to be the top half of the body...when there was an adverse reaction to it ( clearly busts aren't popular) the second reveal was going to be made where you see that it was in fact not a " bust" but an actual really large Kaiju beast of my design...I wanted to make a sort of crowning jewel of a toy collector's collection...I always loved the Rancor, inhumanoids monster size in relation to smaller figures..As it has gone..my confusion over the idea that it wasn't happening was greatly concerning me to the point that I have contacted several attorney's opinions about what my leverage is within what they HAVE to honor in respect to the figure...Luke sent me the image of the sculpt this morning because the heated pitch of this whole thing has gotten to a somewhat disconcerting level with people outside of myself and Luke..I like Luke..I like what he adds to the toy game but I was totally willing to go the distance on this thing..I was willing to pull the plug on the whole endeavor and still have feelings of it..When I was on the phone a few things became clear to me..in light of the information I gained from my interractions with the attorneys, I had his ass on a few small distinct details...That ultimately this was a project to be ARTIST driven..I would be the one to make the final decisions on this enterprise...That being said..I negotiated with some appropriate legal weight and demanded that If the bust/ figure was to be put off for another time that I would have to be compensated with something more significant..I had the power to pull the plug and with him already having been commissioning siccaluna to work on it what could he do?..What could he offer me?...He told me that He knew that the interests of most toy collectors was more aligned with something familiar and distinctly artful, like the current piece being worked on...and that a giant bust was too much of a gamble in light of that.....what he DID offer me in the face of having this whole thing go to hell was a continuing line of figures in this vein...FULL figure..10-11 inch kaiju figures of my design as well as smaller figures to go with the larger ones if he could negotiate that with the current sculpting party ( siccaluna)..He asked me to give him time to talk to the Sculptors and provide him with sketch designs of the smaller figures and he could see what the final negotiation would be...Having Luke's ass over a barrel wasn't what I ever wanted to have to do...but! it is rewarding because I am a really zen kinda dude for the most part and even though Lulubell isn't a large corporation it was cool to do a little homework and have it work for me...I also get the feeling from forums and the reaction of things is that only a few people were really all that interested in my Bust/ giant figure experiment..Luke was right in that aspect..so to break it down to what finally!!! came out... here it is...
THIS IS WHAT IS GOING ON

Bust? giant figure...put on hold
11 inch full kaiju figure yes!!
smaller accompanying figures...Yes!..( to be revealed! hahahahaha sigh)
and more Larger 11 inch kaiju figures coming as well...I was told that they would try to get another large one out by the end of the year..
In retrospect a full line of full size EPIC figures/toys is a really good compromise for me...if you could even call it a compromise...I feel like I won!! Maybe old MotorBot wants to work on a new project! Thanks for your patience everyone...my life isn't always a bad acid trip guys I promise!!!
