I like this toy predicated by the fact that it's from James but the mandrake price is fucking absurd. It shows market manipulation to the point that it's laughable. They've been known to inflate from time to time but still...it makes me chuckle.

While they were not "bagged" per se, each Rex at NYCC did come with bag and header and you could bag it if you were so inclined to do so.

BOObotcher is correct. Luke had some at a convention in Japan. Forgive me for not knowing which one, exactly. I'm sure either someone from Mandarake bought it and put it up, or someone bought one and sold it to them. Either way, the price tag is ridiculous.

Looks like the same blue/red head as the one posted on the last page.

Edit: just found this pic on IG. Based on other photos this convention actually happened BEFORE nycc

What the hell are you rolling your eyes at? These are rather large figures and it would take some time to paint them.

Yea thats a $675 paint job on a $125 figure. His work is amazing but I think I'm out at that price. The thought of having almost 6 swirl/glow/solid for the same price makes me think twice. Still would love to have one painted by him though.

$800 is ludacris.

Maybe there is some market for "James Groman" fans elsewhere.

I've seen Paul Kaiju one offs go for $500. I'm not exactly sure why a hand painted one off of a figure three times the size of a Mockbat/Boss at $800 from a high profile, established artist is ludacris. I absolutely deem them both worthy. My pockets just don't run that deep. That's just my opinion, of course. I suppose if you one can afford it and the desirability is there, then it's not ludacris at all.

S'right . . . s'all about levels of ludacris!

I shake my head in disbelief at some of the crap that's being hyped, worshipped and bought for considerably less these days! $800 for a behemoth hand-painted by Mr Madballz seems like a steal of a deal in comparison to a lot of it!

Exactly. The fact this was already up for pre-order in two colors so ANYONE who liked it could grab it cheap and easy and paint it themselves pretty much makes any price they ever charge for future editions totally reasonable.

There was none of the -it's so limited you better pay out of your ass or never get one- type of stuff going on at all so i respect anything they do with this figure from now on. I got mine cheap and easy, everyone else could have done the same. Whatever happens next with this thing is just icing on the cake. The man is a legend. Maybe not to most vinyl fans but that's besides the point.
