Post Kaws: 3 Feet Taller
Hi,
Does anyone know about the Kaws release in June which is 4 foot tall? Heard some rumblings on another board, but as usual nothing concrete...

Hmmm. Kinda cool, but kinda disappointed. Actually, it's really cool, but I'm still disappointed.

EEEEYAOWW. Def hard core $$$$. I guess folks just can't get enough of this sculpt. I personally never liked it (accept when Pushead collabed with him and put some TEETH & Soul into it) but hey to each his own.

OK Blind fold on, check. Brick wall behind me, check. Paper target over my heart, check. Last cigarette, nah never smoked, pass. OK ...FIRE!!!!

How many times can KAWS go back to the same well before it runs dry?

I'd like to have one but at the likely cost its really an investment and KAWS seems to be mailing it in at this point.

Its a great piece but KAWS seems stagnant these days. I'd rather see a 4 foot KAWS X Pushead.

The more I think about it, the more I have to admit, I'm pretty bummed about him not having anything really new and fresh. Although I remeber right around Feb or something I did hear that Kaws wasn't really putting out anything super new for a few months. I want to see a new awesome character. Something to add to his world. I'm keeping my hopes way up. I have a good feeling he won't let us down.

what i really like about the KAWS line is that they have a theme/statement. i mean, can we really say that about 5 inch fight figures or giant godzilla toys?

but what is interesting now about KAWS stuff is the releases of the same sculpts in different colors selling for mega bucks... totally a practice in consumption that i think the original artwork was attempting to satyrize

i mean really.... a wooden bear?

The 99 is really nice and I like the black dissected because of the neon colors, but other than that there hasn't been anything refreshing from him. IMO you won't have any money left to put in the dumb teeth bank after you buy it. Don't get me wrong a nice KAWS collection is breathtaking (Drew has an amazing one) but I would rather put a downpayment on a house. Just my $.02

from my understanding and
if u think of planning and production process of a fig
this size and weight (of over 30 kg) its a little
different from doing 5 YLater. guess it was a long way to go
to make this happen - prolly not business as usual
for manufacturers too.

at least in my mind its a totally new kaws fig
& im fxxking excited to see whether is NICE.

btw will S7 be getting em in?
any preorder list already?
