Got that presspop dvd; it's kind of like a tribute album if we're thinking of the same thing. Pretty nice.

How can you look at Jim Woodring's art and not think he's got some heavy shit going on upstairs?

Among my most treasured non-kaiju figures are these hand-painted resin prototypes for the Frank and Pushpaw/Pupshaw sets that were later translated into vinyl. They are slightly larger than the production figures were - and have a really beautiful hard, smooth color finish.

ohmigawd, taro! that so fuckin rocks i cannot tell you how much.....jim is my number 1 hero and i know him pretty well. frank has been tattooed on my arm for hmmmm.....fifteen years now. I've got quite a collection of his originals and prints, too, including the most exquisite panel from the whole earth story "frank's real pa."
The very first big drawing in his book "seeing things" is about my exhibition he was in. i'm so in love with your frank model. how did you come to acquire him?

The prototypes came up on eBay. The seller had somehow obtained them from PressPop. Jim Woodring was also interested in the auction. He and I chatted back and forth about it. He decided to bow out.
