I would say Bwana's "the man", but he actually is a bit more of "frenzied chimp in love". So there you go, Bwana's the FCIL.

I really dig the Bwana style. Not sure I follow you on the Dehara similarity though VGA, but he puts out some real tight work.
I was really happy to get the little cards in the mail. When I first pre-ordered my Stevens it was such a change up for my collection. I imediately felt happy to be having Steven in the collection. Through Bwana and Steven I got fully into the Japanese vinyl thing I think - I saw his pics of some of the Smoking Corps and I really wanted them after that.

I managed to pick up a glow Steven along the way too, which is centre piece now.

don't know FCIL (as usual) :D

but i adore Bwana's work. i'm completely down with his wavelength. so much of the art embraced by the vinyl community in the US is dark, graff, or just plain weird (not saying it's bad though)

His work seems to come from a place of love, peace and honesty - things i inspire to feel/be but often fail miserably :D

Anyway, he always inspires me. i've been admiring the silver jesse for awhile but i know i don't need to have it to feel the goodness. Still can't wait for the Stevens though!! glad i preordered, even though they are delayed.

deep thoughts from jltohru. now back to the normal broadcast.

Oh Mori I kinda compared him to dehara (but Bwana is more in an american type of way) because his work always makes me laugh my ass off and it is colorful as hell but I also know that thier styles are completly different in a certain sense!!!!!!!! I definitly wasn't saying they are exactly alike!!!!!!!!!!

so you can hook me up DR. T??????? I emailed Bwana about doing a custom peice so we will see if he gets back to me!!!!!!! If not I will have you work your FCIL MAGIC!!!!!!!!!!!! OH YEAH!!!!!! Oh and that doesn't mean I have to be nice to you!!!!!! you have to be nice to me first!!!!!!!!hahahahaha

Post Jessie and the beachmist
Hi Guys.
Look ,my first ever message or reply to the gang. Been looking at a few of the message boards a bit, but skullbrain is the first i have joined.

About Jessie. He is out, sort of. Only a few of the 30 have been made. Been having a bit of stickiness trying to get some more made. Each one is hand-made by super studio Acorn studio right here in Portland. When i get some more done they will be available at APE, MoCCA, and SDCC. So you can see him in person there and know why he is $300. personally i would never pay $300 for any new toy, but then i have never seen a hand cast edition of 30 Gyango before.

About the big jessie that i sculpted and painted. I don't think he is sold. he is at MOCA design shop in Santa Monica right now, with his driftwood palace.

No new word on Steven. Max Toy Co will make an announcement sometime soon about the next figure in the My Peeples line.

About Dehara. we are working on some shoes together, and I love love love his work, so it is a nice compliment.

Ok, smell ya later.
BWana.

Bwana,

Welcome! Cool you joined to say hello. Many admirers here of your work. Take a look under "Show you collection". There is a whole thread on a painting of yours there.

Hope to see you soon around town!
