what made you go with packaging like this as opposed to a bag/header format or a box?

The bag and header was not strong enough. I would have to put a blister tray and backing card to keep the robot from pocking holes through the bag. This clamshell is less expensive than the header card, bag, blister tray AND backing card combo. Same with a plain no window box. Anyway this Calmshell is not heat sealed and is re-closeable. The lock buttons are snug but not hard to open and it keeps the clamshell closed very well. There is also "void tape" to secure the sides. It's neat. If you peel the tape off the word "Void" gets stuck to the package so you can tell if it's been opened before.

My hands thank you in advance for not heat-sealing the clamshell.

That's not bad is it? LOL..It's like a small silvery gray tape noting obnoxious or anything Hmmm I can always go with plain clear tape if the void tape is like bad. It'll save me some $$ too

Packaging looks excellent. Robert you knew you wouldn't have been able to contain him in just a plastic bag. He's ready to hop into some collections and starting kicking ass and taking names.

LOL. No you can go wiht whatever u want, its ur baby~! The void tape is just so hard core! Ur first fig looks amazing and it should be sealed up and graded like mint comics! Congrats Robert!!! Can't wait to get one and tear off that void tape!

Manga; Thanks for the kind words. Actually the void tape is still up in the air. We're still disscussing if we really want it. It does cost a bit extra so we'll see.

Just curious, what led you to this choice instead of, say, bagging it a la Japanese sofubi, or a box?

Robert, it's been great watching this, from your 1st post of a drawing on June 21st to a almost ready to ship finished product now All I can say is:
The finished product came out great, and the colors ROCK. I can't wait for the preorder of the set, and some Villains & other characters, that I'm sure are forthcoming . Don't forget to let us know when to start a presale list

Now,,"why are the heel - holes asymmetrical?" = Simple answer.. They used one of the vinyl samples to vacu-form the clamshell and the holes just had to be like that to accomodate they way the bot (being vinyl) settled when the vac was applied on the original.

man, i've got my money just ready to THROW at you, I cannot wait for the day, I am loving these like nothing else in a LONG time...congrats with following your dream!
