I have started a list of Bwana’s custom Steven's to date numbering 55.
This is to help Bwana track the numbers as he has a few holes to fill.

Sorry, this should probably go in the Custom section.

I have the very 1st GID custom number "10 ten" done on the
prototype GID in 2005 ( before there was the crossbones & beard tattoo put on)

when Bwana came out with the GID with the crossbones & beard tattoo the following year, he made another custom "#10 ten"

I remember when I saw a picture of it I wrote to Bwana & he said "yeah - I
forgot about the customs I did on the prototypes & started numbering
them again" ............. hope this helps

FYI, the "without crossbones" were made for bwana to make customs with at SDCC (that way they would be "clean"). I cannot recall exactly how many there are, but, these were done before the "numbered" run that came later -so, you essentially have 1-10/15/20 or so without crossbones (not all numbered either, as mine is not) -these SDCC versions are done with marker and not paint, and then I believe he started the official "numbered" list with the painted customs that were over the crossbones or other figures as he made them later "custom painted figures" vs "marker customized". To make it even crazier, I think he sold all of the non-crossbone versions, and then started making some marker versions on regular edition crossbone versions as there was still demand for the cute sucker. Only Bwana can know for sure though....

Oh wait, I lied, mine is #06 and has lightning bolts. I honestly think there are only 10 or 15 of these SDCC proto versions with no chest or beard. I remember the polka dot version, it was (and is) fresh to death.

Here's 27 and 29 from Thrash Out, but what are they called?

Thanks Brian for the info on those early SDCC proto customs. Steven has a great history to him (let alone his close call with mr fire). And thx Germs and Super77m for updates. Anyone else got a custom steven in there crib or know of any others in existence?

Yeah the ones without crossbones are few, and yes... done with sharpie at the con.
Uh, are the monster mash ones numbered? For some reason I thought maybe i didn't number those, just wrote trick or treat. But that's why this is here so y'all can set me straight.

ok, let me fill in a few more. i have #18 and #31.
These were Stevens offered to the mailing list.
I see #31 listed as being a Monster Mash custom,
but mine was definitely not part of that show, so there might be two #31s.
I'm going to add some photos I have filed, too.
Oh, and #26 is actually an "Eat Me" Steven.
I think #19 is one of the missing ones-
there was a group of four starting @18 and ending at #22,
with no #19.
