I got the RGB green version in the mail today. The details on the inside are pretty cool. I really like this guy.

Got mine! This toy is really cool in person, great paint, great pose and tactilely interesting to hold,,,,

He's meeting his new friend, 80's electro dino guy.

Adam did an excellent job with the packaging too, very cool "duty now for the future" science vibe... wish I would've gotten one of the boxed ones now!

I know I'm still new to this stuff and my opinion might be worth a bag o' turnips to y'all, but.......

This has got to be one of the best executions of vintage vinyl homage with modern design skills I have seen so far (from USA). Just jumped on the bandwagon for the clear red version and can't wait!!!!!

My fav color is green so if any you guys that got the clear green one eventually wanna trade

adam, have you thought about painting a pupil on the eye?? I'd be interested in seeing what it looks like with one.

Post Re: Cop A Squat Toys
I've got some one offs that will have a pupil. I've been playing with it, but since I only have so many I can "play" with before I get the next box full it makes it hard to make a decision. That's one reason I left the eye without a sculpted pupil that way it's sorta open to whatever.

I'm really excited that my lil fella has been getting so much positive feedback, it makes this long journey very much worth it. Thanks everyone for the support it means a lot! :D 8)

I love figures without puplis. you can always apply one with paint but the look without adds a little creep factor. The "guts" on the RGB one are stunning, especially the eye. Looking forward to getting the Clutter version in the mail. What's the story behind the "cicada killer"? Or was it just something you really like and wanted to incorporate into this toy?

Post Re: Cop A Squat Toys
Honestly I tried to come up with a back story but I'm no writer by an means. I've always liked Semi Ningen and Baltan so they surely influenced me on this fella. As far as the name, Cicadas always fascinated me as a kid because they can get pretty bad here in SW VA, we used to collect a bunch of the shells when I was young and it just sorta stuck with me. As a matter of fact the 17 year Cicada returns this year in VA and a lot of the eastern seaboard and they are extremely loud. People here hate them but I guess I'm the odd man out, because nothing says summer like the buzz of those creepy ass bugs! I had grabbed a whole pale full of those shells last year and had sorta planned on using them to fill a clear version of the toy but a few friendly SB members warned me it wasn't a good idea so I scrapped it. Apparently people wouldn't dig buying a toy with a bunch of dead bugs in them, go figure.

Why would you listen to such nonsense !

The full of shells clear sounds sick, and should be done.

people won't want dead bugs in them? I don't know but seems like some folks like mezcal well enough. It's an honor to get the worm at the bottom...

The shells would have been awesome. They are not dead bugs, just old "cloths" if you will. I could collect them from the yard this summer. They might be hard to get inside without breaking. Maybe just break them up and have loose legs and eyes inside. And you are right nothing says summer like the incessant cicada calls.

Who cares what some people think. Other board members would definitely buy that, I will. Sounds like a morbid fun idea. Will they stink though?

I love this toy! I recently received the blue see-through version and was impressed with everything, including the design of its box. This sculpt is a breath of fresh air, especially when compared to such garbage like the dead beat.

it was probably me who said it was a bad idea.

in the toy world the people that say that's a great idea are usually never the ones to buy it anyway...

I don't know about backstory, but when I look at mine, I imagine the cicada's being mesmerized by the giant red eye, and when they get close to him to investigate , he zaps 'em with the right arm zapper, then chews 'em up in his maw. He is called a 'Cicada Killer' after all..... :D
