I like the Suckadelic stuff. The mish mash of familiar figures to make something new is just fun. These are all homemade, no? How would one make a bubble card like that?

Vacuum formed clear plastic I assume... time consuming, but not too difficult.

The generic bubbles are scotch taped to the card, in true bootleggy fashion... at least on all the stuff I've seen

The new figures are great, I especially like the Bad Acid bot. The packaging for that one is great too.

I'm a big fan of Suckadelic.
Wish i could spend more dollars on picking up more of his stuffs.
The backing cards really seal the deal for me.
Right down to the choice of colours, font, theme, copy on the back of the cards and the bootleggy approach.
I picked up Tyros 'The Tyranny of Finance' recently. Check the spiel on the back ......

Always loved the original sucklord stuff, always hated his spiel and persona.
The newer bootlegs don't do it for me, but sad to see him going to the trading cards, urban vinyl etc etc. But then we always knew he wante to be a superstar.

I don't know anything about the 'persona' behind Sucklord, so I won't comment there... I always understood him to be weird and eccentric. Is there something inherently wrong with wanting to be successful tho? I mean, aren't most toy makers (or artists, or musicians, or whatever) people with an idea that they want to share with people?

If you knew more about it you would understand my comment and not take it for a 13 yo complaining his favorite band signed to a major label.

Huh. Well, I know Sucklord pretty well, but I'm not sure I fully understand either. I kinda dig the persona--the videos on the site are pretty hilarious. I know he did those Star Wars trading cards, which I couldn't care less about, but what urban vinyl did he do? Do you mean the one with the radio and droopy light saber?

He first came to my attention when he started releasing dj scratch tools/battle records around the late 90’s. His stuff always sold well and was really well received. He really captured a niche market with his releases. His Star Wars Breakbeats LPs were awesome. When I first saw his carded figures I never connected the two.

I dig the boots and just picked up a set of trading cards. I dig the cards. They are totally like the old school star wars cards. I have met him a couple of times at SDCC and he seems cool enough to me.

The cards are very cool. And the company he worked with to make them brought back the technology to do wax wrappers. This hasn't existed in the card world since the early 90's. You don't realize what a difference it makes until you feel one unfold as you pull it open. Plus, the card market is crazy like any other collectible niche. There are sketch cards out there that sell for over $1k for a baseball card size painting or sketch.

He's ridden the bootleg wave for a while and is spreading out into other places where he sees opportunities. I applaud the effort because not many artists would have the guts to do it. Also I think he's planning to help other artists get trading cards made of their work. I see Sucklord opening doors that few artists are. Not sure where the dislike comes from unless you'd only want him to keep producing Star Wars related material.

I just got a box full of these little beauties, it's a shame to see this carded format being retired.
Like deadbone, I thought the write ups on the card backs really made these special.
Mordros in the previous batch, Steve & Cosmo Douche were my favourite text pieces (though not my favourite figs)

Not really understanding audiodifficulties beef with SL, probably just doesn't understand his sense of humour which can get pretty dark & wise cracky, his 'spiel & persona' are an integral part of his artistic practice & why wouldn't he want to be a superstar.

I've known Sucklord for several years now always found him to be professional, focussed and dedicated to his art.

Maybe I'm biased though as I'm one of those artists he's been including in his group shows & trading card projects.

I love Sucklords hip hop remixes, and I like his bootleg toys too. I don't own any of them though. I won a Homotrooper for a good price on eBay, but the dude never sent it, and I had to get my money back from Paypal.

You can get them on ebay or the interweb.

I didn't put the breakbeats and the figures together at first either. I dig both though.
