Post Toss your GOATS. Or leading artist American Vinyl.
I find Gary Baseman a bit fake, forced if you will and feel my readers that Koziks immediacy and blunt message. "Smoke, Kill, Collect!" "Death to fake Vinyl" His presence in the market place as a leading artist in ROCK and the first to collaborate with BXH of all the AMERICAN set. He is the true leader and innovator. My opinion.
I appreciate his Transparency with the fans and his lack of " High art tower" attitude. He is here will us the fans and is alsso present in the Kid Robot Message board.

Now the new set of artist I don't care for. All brought up in the twenty four Hour shine of the interland. Joe LEd, the Huck fellow. The Logo creator for Kid Robot I care not to seek his name for this post but he is also new breed. I got the book recently called Vinyl will kill and to my dismay all the players seemed fake and forced. the Touristy Vinyl makers and the monetarily well off backers of artist. I will not address The Japan players or the UK innovators but really. IS KOZIK a true leader of the OG ( NOT STREET JUST ORIGINAL GUARD ) AMERICAN brigade. ( I will not discuss KAWS here. He is a fine artist masquerading as street. That old SVA grad.)

I await your replies.

LOL!!!!!!!
Sometimes you just gotta hate...So hate on brother!!!!!!!

Kozik's work is great, but I also love JLED's stuff.
There is a lot of hype right now around JLED, but that was and is all done by toy fans. It started almost immediately after the first pictures of the Bunny and Firecat surfaced several months ago.
He just happened to hit on images that a whole lot of people went crazy for.
My only problem is that the one figure I really want ( the snow bunny) is limited to 100 peices and I'll either never get one or pay through the nose for it.

big props to Kozik, but i don't think i could pick a single "ambassador"

I'm also a big fan of Biskup, and always appreciate his deference to jp vinyl with toys like the gamagon and pollard. they fuse seamlessly with my new jp vinyl toys. makes for a fun collection of vinyl from different artists/traditions.

frank has alot of releases so that kind of makes sense
but....
theres so many others..
VGA- his one post said 26 harvests..?
but then there was the question to if he was a girl
and i thought his one post explained he/she was leaving to go out with an emo vinyl pulse girl and venture into neo graf toys b/c we are stupid

Artemis dropped us so quick...the next new thing came along and we were so uncool after that.

I'm a fan of the Biskup too. I have a few of his pieces and always smile when I go by my Ghonner.

I can't wait for the yellow Calli figures to finally make it over from the factory. I wonder if it might be 2006 by then though?

I would think 2006 - even if they got State side in the next week or two, shipping them out will take a bit.
I didn't order one in the end. Was very keen at first, but fell out of love with it a bit leading up to it's "release". Still a nice figure though, just not for me.

Frank's toys are humorous. Pus' toys are monstrous...Biskup's walks a fine line between the two spectrums.

pick your poison.

I'm not here to pick a favorite, but I just met Baseman last night and the guy was nice as hell.

We were chatting it up and this young girl with her mother comes over and tells him she's off to art school in the summer and was wondering if he had any advice and if she could get his autograph. He sat there and drew out a great picture for her all the while telling her that the art world is a very rough trade but to not ever get discouraged etc, etc.

It was just cool that while all these people in their art house costumes are plopping down thousands of dollars for his stuff he'd rather take time to chat with this girl and her folks.
