I like the brown Kaws one, but I wasn't willing to pay $150 plus shipping for it. The glitter version is only getting so much attention because it's more limited. Brown looks way better than glitter and pink.

This is true. The "Brown" version looks great! I haven't opened the Pink yet because I'm still enthralled with the Brown. And I ended up trading the Glitter to someone who liked it more than I did so that I could get the Green Pushead in return. At first the low edition number made me want to keep it - but the Green Pushead looks so much better and will actually be displayed in my house.

IMO 80% of the initial interest was prolly from flips that want that 'big cash" KAWS usually seems to draw..Have only seen 1-2 pics of people that actually bought them...

I like them in a trashy way and think they play off other pieces.
I couldn't see owning all three sets though. Not that into them.
And thankfully I'm not a completist.

I have a set of the glitter myself, and they are on display, but I'm still debating whether or not I like them.

They're just....ummm...boring I think is a good word. I liked the idea of glitter because I didn't really care for the detail work on the pink and brown, plus to be truthful it was nice to have the opportunity to buy something from Kaws for a normal price.

I'll end up keeping them though...I know myself too well...I have that Irish pack rat gene in me that never wants to let anything go.

:)

I got the brown set and I love it. It's way better than I expected. My 8 year old likes the twins too. He took pictures with his new cell phone right away!

Exactly! We went to the Milwaukee Art Museum a few weeks ago to see the Masters of American Comics exhibition (which is fantastic BTW). The little guy filled up his camera phone with boobie photos!!!

I was curious to see these in person, so I checked out a set of the pinks at Original Fake. Didn't interest me at all, and they're not even in the same league as the KawsxPus figures, IMO.

I can see charging maybe $30-$40 for the twins, but not 17,000 yen, especially since a boatload of versions have already been made. But it does go to show that Kaws is a million dollar name.

Opposite for me. When I got them I was MUCH more impressed than I thought I would be. Like these a whole lot more than the Accomplice. And they're miles above the Blitz and Milos.
