 JAS "deadsea version"
every so often i get a feeling of nostalgia when i see mutual influences from friends art & creations. i have been so lucky to have known so many sincere & humble talented artists & other such hustlers. JAS also known here as magillagorilla is about as true an artist as any i have had the pleasure of working with, Jim as he is called has been a great friend & produced hand made bootleg style Kusogon Hand puppets a ways back.
in turn Mr. Sato was inspired by that on coloring the Japanese doll.
Thanks Jim & Mr. Sato- you guys RAWK! so anyway i started seeing these weird dead sea monki things he was doing & said i wanted to see a toy doll of his strange creatures. over the spring & summer Jim having never scuplted before took some classes & refined several clay moulds of his odd little dudes. we talked about doing a run of resin figures but i felt this guy deserved to live as soft vinyl. so we begin again, i am honored i got to see the full progress of these from start to finish.
when i thought he was done, Jim took it up a notch to this:
monki1 by b-eaK, on Flickr monki4 by b-eaK, on Flickr monki2 by b-eaK, on Flickr monki3 by b-eaK, on Flickr "deadsea version" original character design & master sculpt by JAS co-produced by JAS & beaK Made in Japan crawling forth spring 2013

 Re: JAS "deadsea version"
I like the head, but not quite the chest. Not sure way, may be a closer look might help. The eyes and mouth kinda remind me of Giro Seijin (no teeth though). If this was made into vinyl, I would prefer arms closer to the body... just saying.

 Re: JAS "deadsea version"
This is awesome. Weird, gross and goofy but still appealing and a little cute(if I can say that).
