Such a clean design.
As soon as I get one the first thing I am doing is carefully chopping those hands off and spring loading the fists into semi-painful projectiles.

This is excellent! If this comes to fruition I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a release with the projected mixed media (i.e. chromed plastic & decals).

New image. I'm sending the plans over today for a quote on manufacturing costs. Should be good to go!

Messing around and made a fake magazine cover...

okay...it's getting real... the design files have been sent to Unbox, just waiting on a production price quote, then it's off to the kickstarter/pre-order ordeal.
Body will be plastic, made to the same specs as vintage Jumbo Machinders ( add your own fist accessories!) and the head will be painted vinyl, just like my other Unbox figures. I don't plan on any paint applications on the body, just using different color plastic and a few decals for effect.
Packaging will probably not be much more than a silk screened shipping box, just to keep costs down. I don't know, I have to price printed boxes out yet.
The run will be less than 500 total, with about 4 variations of plastic color combos. I'm hoping to do a "stealth" black knight version in all black plastic/vinyl.
Thanks to yinz guys for prompting me to go large!

So excited for this thing!
Is the mini version for a low pledge point still a possibility?

Unfortunately a separate 9 inch or so vinyl figure would be too costly with the molds and stuff. I am working on a 3 figure crew set ( resin cast) to go with it in limited numbers

Will be very happy when the kickstarter info arrives. Watching the progression of initial thought to production has been very interesting and informative.
Thanks for sharing all of this stuff !

Big fan of Jeff but I hate the wings. The illustration is great but the final product looks to symmetrical. They line up too much with the torso. I love the way it looks slanted in the drawing. Love.

They actually pivot at the shoulder, so they can be rotated up and out, or folded back in a simple "flight" mode- sort of like an old supersonic swept wing fighter. The wings are held in by friction (for now) so they can be taken out all the way too.
Here's an image of "flight" mode- wings folded back, legs rotated to have tail fins- extremely flight worthy! You can see the jet intakes on the shoulders and the cockpit bubble on the back of the head.

This thing is beautiful Jeff. Kudos. Going to try and lay my hands on one when they are released.

Okay, silly question and maybe this is ridiculous , but I have to ask...any chance of making a limited Greasebat Head under the helmet? Would be pretty hilarious if you could pull that off...either way, this release is gonna rule.

Haha! I like the way you think... for a couple years now I've been trying to utilize an homage to the old walking battery operated robots that had the robot head that opened to show a kaiju/dinosaur head... sadly not here!

2015 needs to see this bad Larry land on our shelves

Yeah I hope so! I had a production price quote from the producer that seems do-able. Still working on cutting some production costs. Once that's done the full blown begging for funds will begin. Really the funding will come from pre-orders, some of them with extras like original art , production sketches, resin figures etc. None of that "your name on a website" stuff.

i'm totally on board with this one!

So happy it's still on the books! Cannot wait to support this project

No downloadable pdf? That's the all-time best KS reward!

Haha!
Found out today I should have a revised production cost estimate in about 10 or 12 days... after that it's on

Awesome. Looking forward to this.
