First of all...

Glow shirts? COOL!
Second of all, my general reaction to all this is to watch a few select films and try to feel a little better with the liquid libation of your choice. Other helpful relaxing substance choices I leave up to your imagination.
Some films to consider:
Fight Club
Clerks
and especially Office Space
You might very well relate to the frustration, vent a little anger vicariously, and have a good laugh.
After all, wouldn't we all rather do nothing?
Hope things get better, or at least more tolerable.

Just a quick question here - all this talk of 40 hr weeks - I'm in here 50 most weeks, like a lot if us I'm sure. My last job I used to do on call as well, so 50 plus weekend work atleast every 4th week and sometimes in the middle of the night, and no overtime as I'm salaried.
Add that to fact I come from Europe, where vacations start at 4 weeks, and the working week was 35hrs when I left....coming here was a major shock to teh system.
Mind u, it could be much, much worse, I could be in a Chinese factory wiring vinyl toys into a box all day, and living in the on-site dormitory...or wosre, be in Juarez working for a pittance for Levi's or some such....

When I was in restaurants 65-80 hrs. 5 1/2 - 6 days a week, weekends, nights, holidays. I loved it though.
Now I'm a "corporate chef" 40 hrs. or less, M-F, holidays off, not much fun.

i only work 30 hours a week...but, because of the population of kids i work with it feels like a 40+ job...maybe if i actually worked 40hrs a week i could stop complaining about my lack of funds...hmmm

I get paid hourly so 40 hrs. is the limit since overtime pay is foreign to this company

I could work just 40 hours if I wanted to, 9-5 hours.
But since I have no family or other obligations, I don't bolt at 5pm like most people.
Probably 45-50 hours a week, but at an easy pace.
Like some others, I've done the 80-100 hour weeks years ago. I've pulled all-nighters, crashed at the office, upset the accounting people as my boss approved my time sheet (with extra hours) and they had never seen anything like it.
