I'm assuming they closed because I haven't heard anything about them in years.

I was pissed when they closed. It was just before I went to SF for a visit. I think it's a non-profit reading center or something. Helpful to humanity? Sure...but no Japanese toys or punk records...

Howling Bull dungeon master Devon now works at the Super7 store. Retail savant Dennis is known as Baikin on this board and now resides in Tokyo. HB was here the whole time, just hiding from you!

oh shit! That's where I first met Devon! When I saw him at S7, it was like Deja Vu, but I couldn't place it! Scored some cool mecha at very reasonable prices from the Bull back in the day. also bummed when it closed...

Post Howling bull was rad
Howling bull was radness.
I got to do one of the first window displays with doremon rocking a turn table i think.
Devon is the bomb, and the first person to ever give me a zine. He was interviewing pushead and metallica when we were all still pipsqueeks.

Howling Bull was first and foremost a Japanese store that specialized in Punk 45's and the like. They just happened to sell Japanese toys.
What worked in Japan did not work in the U.S.
Howling Bull in SF was actually a second location. It closed rather
(unfortunately ) too quickly.
