haha.

I think the only possible way would be to disable links all together.

What about a search/replace wild card word filter?

search and replace this (asterisks are wildcards):

*******.auctions.yahoo.co.jp********

to http://www.bbtoystore.com/store/BB_Beanies.html

Same with the ebaze

I thought that was a no-no, no? Can we at least bash them perp?

I've always wanted to use the word perp in a sentence without being a cop.

Not a bad idea, but I think it will stop pics from working too.

GO nuts on the bashing. I am all for user moderation of the board.

I realize this request is not something that can really be solved by S7. It's more of a plea to everyone here to just hold off on posting links and/or images to live auctions. Save the image and bring it up after the fact or pm a friend to find some answers if it's something that is of interest.

I support this plan.

Think before you link!

There are other ways to contribute or voice interest in something rather than posting links.

And newbies, you should learn that if you are interested in something, the last thing you want to do is broadcast it across the internet, cause that is what you are doing. Yeah, there are say 50 or 100 active posters here, but there are also hundreds of lurkers and flippers here.

True cause many can track it back to the auction.

Save the image to your desktop.
Then go to http://imageshack.us/ and repost it.

Extra steps but loses the URL trail.

Even if you break the URL trail, so to speak, it's pretty apparent that the images are from an auction. I think a better idea is just to wait until it's over before posting the images publicly.

I stand corrected. Good point.

edit: I was originally thinking of the really obscure and vintage stuff.

agreed. I think it's okay to discuss toys that are new and that you have questions about but keep the auction links off.

Yea, no pictures whatsoever of current auctions.
Lately there's been post asking if so-and-so figure is legit and the story behind it.

Can we clarify here? Links to live auctions are forbidden, but it IS ok to post links to auctions that have ended. Yes? I mean, even Flynn has posted links to closed auctions.

There have been plenty of times when a picture from an auction was the first/only picture available of a toy. I don't see the problem, but I also rarely buy toys from auction sites.

can i add that people should use google translator or some equivalent before posting as well?

read between the lines of the translation before asking questions.

another pet peeve of mine is people who do absolutely no research on their own before inquiring about something. look around on the interwebz...there are tons of blogs and decent sites out there to help with this. i'll help people out, but expecting everything to be handed to you with no effort is ridiculous.
