Post The Secret Life Of Flippers Pt.1

^ Homeless Flipper's Lackeys wait for morning,
and the opening of WCC23 at Tokyo Big Sight.
... And it was COLD, believe me!
(pic: mondocoyote)

Image
^ MR. BIG!!!
Not. This guy was constantly on the phone to a third (unseen) party.
He was wrangling a total of eight homeless guys though.
Four in each of the two lines.

Image
^ The Payoff.
Here we see Mr. Not-so-big handing over 500yen to each of the homeless guys. 500yen!!! That's less than five bucks. Assuming they get 'half now, half later' that's a max of 1000yen for sleeping out all night!
Still, that's what they'd have been doing anyway, right?

Image
^ "This is wot they want!"
"Whut, those booger-looking fings?"
S'right, that's a photocopy of pix of RxH figs they're looking at.
After this, each of the vagrants was given a crisp new 10,000yen note to spend.

Image
^ Under Starter's orders ... (pic: datadub)
Mondocoyote prepares to karate-chop one of the homeless guys, while Alice flexes his fingers in readiness for his trademark 'Eye-Gouge' move.
This is the front of the line, and those homeless guys stood no chance once we started our run. But we still didn't make it to the RxH table before the 50 OTHER flippers who were ALREADY INSIDE the hall.

COMING SOON: "Rogue's Gallery"! Pix of all your YJA Faves!
Yo, Fugu375! We know who you are ...

This is great, way better than bird watching. Flipper catch and release program.

The real trick is figuring out how those other fellows get in early. Do they have tables in the hall?

Not limited to Japan.
I saw a woman on the streets of Boston today wearing one.
SARS masks?

A lot of people wear them if they have lowered immune systems to prevent catching other colds/illnesses, at least that's what two friends of mine who had cancer had said was their reasoning for wearing them.

Fugu's daughter got my Rumble Monster at Thrashout.
He flipped that, and maybe four others, for a cool 25000yen each.
You don't forget things like that in a hurry.

Guy's a douchebag.

it;'s politeness and a respect to others since they have a cold. in HK after SARS, it is common practice now when someone is sick but they still have to go to work or go out, which is great, since you can see them a mile away and you can avoid them.

favourite moments of the waiting experience

1. flipper finding a golden ticket in his RXH bag, then having to run off and get instructions from flipper command as to which unpainted he should pick.

2. Watching Datadub kick the arch-flipperking (not pictured) to the back of the queue after he tried pushing in.

Worst moment. Walking up to a couple of innocent looking middle aged women to see if I could trade my mutant chaos for their mutant head, only to have the flipper king run over and tell them nort to trade. His agents are EVERYWHERE.
