 my comp HATES this board
I just don't understand what's changed but I got a new computer and something must be set up different than my old one which was a piece of crap old slow beast. Now I can't go pg to pg on the board without it taking forever, especially going from a forum back to the main pg it takes 5 attempts and moves slower than hell. I'm really hoping someone knows what may need to be adjusted on my comp to fix this cuz it's driving me insane!!

The only thing that slows me down is if someone's avatar is a video clip.

Have you updated your browser lately, Slack? Which browser do you use, IE? If you have that, you might want to enable script debugging under Tools/Internet Options/Advance/Browsing and see if it gives you an error message when you browse through skullbrain.org. If it does and you PM me the error message, I might be able to help you. The only other thing I can think of offhand is to increase you cache size, under Internet Options/Temp Internet Settings/Settiings and increase the amount of disk space to use.

So I finally got around to checking this out, my new computer came with IE 7 but last week it detected another version of IE7 and ok'd the download.. finally just got comcast high speed net after living with dial up for years, checked the script debugging thing and found them to be disabled so I enabled and have not gotten any errors BUT there's still something wrong. Everything is fast as hell but going back to the main pg can take 30 seconds or much much longer. This doesn't happen at work on a pos cpu so it's something with this new computer I guess. What is wrong, I need to kill something!

Hi Slack,
Does your work PC have the same Net service as your home PC?
Also, when is the last time you have run Scandisk or Defrag on your home PC? That may help. Just guessing , but if it is just one website that you're having problems with, it sounds more like the site than your PC. I'll ask around at work- I know a couple of tech people that very knowledgable.
I also know a good bit of people who prefer Firefox over IE. It seems to work better in some cases.

running windows 98 at work and xp from home
work has some type of high speed net but I'm not sure which exactly, dsl I think, and home I had dial up but recently got comcast high speed and have had this problem with both. My computer is only a few weeks old so I don't think defrag or scandisk will do much though I will check them out. It all happened when I went to IE 7 for some reason, but it mostly happens when I try to go back to the main page. I've looked but just can't find any details, how do I find out what version of IE my work computer is using? Thanks for trying to help
