I don't understand what the problem is here. I'm looking at the bid history...
http://page10.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/s ... =m43883893
...and it looks like a Celga user put in a bid of 10,000 yen, seven hours before you put in a bid of 10,000 yen.

Kinda confused too. How do you know it's RFSO? Most regulars have named Gold accounts . . . it could be anyone via Celga!

hmmm, i dont wanna start a fight but i do recall the last rally cry after the list was taken down was 'every man for himself'
sad but true
the rules are 'there are no rules'

No, there are some of us who would prefer to exhibit and ideally receive in return some consideration for fellow RFSO'ers. The decision to remove the list was one person's decision, even if some supported it. I still believe that if there were a "list," some of us would honor it.
Thing is, nobody is obligated. There may be no rules, but it's not like it's always "every man for himself" in a bad way.
I don't understand why, in lieu of truly knowing, people assume they're being outbid at YJA or eBay by fellow RFSO'ers?

I won't bid on something if I know the current bidder is one of us. Period. I feel it's kinda rude, but in the end it's free commerce, so if I'm outbid, even if I know it's someone here, I don't get too mad. I know it's going to someone who will most likely keep it around and enjoy it, not flip it. If it's auction_toy or something outbidding me....than I'm pissed.
No rules, true, but than if someone outbids me, and I know who they are, in the future I may not care about outbidding them. Toy karma, just try to keep it balanced.

I think everybody needs to learn to LOSE an auction gracefully.
There is no reason to get all mad (though I have been there).
Maybe it comes with time but it's just an auction and one that will probably come up again.

i will drop this here but when i put a bid on this a couple days ago i was the first bidder on the auction listing...celga had not bid yet...or it wasn't showing on yjp on my end. with all the "used car style" driven for a day sales threads in the BST, people aways trying to work you for a better deal or to "buy" a trade item (which is deemed just plain shitty conduct in the trade rules set by isaac) and crazy prices people are paying on ebay sometime shit pisses you off. such is the case...i'm over it now.

i usually lay off when i see name i recognize.. that being said, alot of times when people complain that they lose an auction, they usually had a pussy bid put in. sorta weird
(although 10K yen for that pirate is as high as it should go for now... imo)

Doesn't celga wait until the last second to bid regardless of when they got the email? The high bidder could have sent in their request long before you did but not had their bid placed until the end right?

I have bid on stuff using Celga and they won't drop until the very end, regardless of when I put my order in.

Absolutely. I'm at the point where, instead of nickel and dime-ing it, I just put my max bid in and not look at it again. If I get outbid, I get outbid.

Absolutely. Fire and forget, that's how I do it. If I don't win it, then I didn't want it badly enough.

I do not bid against fellow board member's if I recognize the name. I do not have a Celga Gold account. I still bid on auction's the ancient way by sending email's to them. I sent my email on Sunday at 10:55 am central time asking for them to bid on this auction for me. At that time there was not a single bid on this auction. I can't help it that Celga wait's till the end of the auction to bid on stuff. devilboy I apologize that you are angry as I said in a pm to you, but how is this my fault? Bidding this way through Celga works in reverse too. I had an email into them for this auction.

Scary Andy bought it, but no big deal, because Celga had not yet bid on it for me so how should he know I was bidding on it? The bottom line is if I see one of my fellow board members ID's on an auction I will not bid on it, but if I don't, I send my email to Celga that second.

I blame celga gold accounts. If we all did it the old fashioned way we would never have bidding wars between members

Cool, I'm glad it's smoothed over. I have always really appreciated you as a member of the community here, & I would really hate to think that I pissed you off.
