i like it but not enough to drop $800 on it (even if i did live in cali). maybe companies will start doing more standard releases with cool "fills" soon on clear stuff. one can only hope.

ditto! That dragamel went from "wow" to "why?" Don't get me wrong, I think Tim Biskup and Gargamel are AWESOME, but when ugly prices are slapped on this stuff, it kind of takes the fun out of it. Is the money going to go yo charity or something?

For $800, I want a clear, clear with GID center, GID painted, Solid painted, and flocked all twice as big and made to MY specifications with a 20% discount.

Haha, well I guess that leaves me out. the drag does ROCK nuts, but $800 in my pocket rocks my nuts harder. What would be interesting is to see how much higher they'll go for if anyone flips them. oh well...

I think my feelings would be hurt a little if I was a toy designer/artist and some guy runs up to buy one of my really exclusive works at some special event just to flip it the next day. It's like, "Why don't you let someone who WANTS one buy it at asking price?" I guess in this business I'd get used to it with the quickness...

thank you lord for the 800.00 price tag. I cannot afford that for one item. But by far my favorite Gargamel, or Biskup item yet. Maybe one day.

I think its intersting flopdoodle made the guns and innards, not gargamel. (I like the TB on the gun handle)

each one is different, which is amazing, but I would have to rob an old woman in a motorized chair for her med money to afford this one.

Just got back from the show. The new paintings kill. Even after seeing the web preview I was surprised and impressed by all the pieces. The massive 30ft(?) mega-WarDragon is awesome -- actual kaiju size!! And the clear/stuffed standard WarDragons (@ $650) are rad. That's a lot of money for a toy but after seeing it, I'd say it's worth it (if it's within your budget). btw, it weighs like 2lbs.

If it was maybe twice as big as the regular fullsize than this would be insane and more justifiable.

It's all 'bout the toys for me . . . but (IMO) Biskup's just upped his game . . . fuckin' killer canvases, insane scupture and the filled War Dragon is a guaranteed investment even at $650 . . . . takin' art/toy to a whole other level!

I think this is the personification of the idea of an "art toy". I know that term is heavily frowned upon(and usually I'd be one of them) in these parts but.. I think thats reasonable if you ask me... and Im dead broke. one could argue the time and effort of a painting vs something like this... but when it comes down to it.. I would take this over a 5000 painting any day..

I dont own any TB pieces other than a few circus punks(one custom) and the original helpers but If i had it in my means to get this i would have.

Alot of those paintings were really awesome. As for the Dragon and it's price, I aint hating. I CAN'T afford it, but I mean, whatever. If I was him, and some people were willing to drop that kinda money on those, I wouldn't say no.

Yeah, but for $800 you can get, for example, a Walter Robinson original sculpture that will be more durable, possibly more likely to appreciate in value (if you think of collecting as an investment) and IMHO more compelling, fun, and interesting. To each their own though.

when you think that the kaws woodden bearbricks just sold out in a flash at $500 each, i dont se whats unreasonable about $650 for these. the bearbricks to start with are mass porduced platform toy that kaws has just dyed black and put X's in for eyes. the wardragons are all hand painted, all the stuff inside was hand made and stuffed, at $150 more, i wouldsay there is nothing wrong with that price. i personally cant afford it but if i did have that kind of money, id much rather spend it on the war dragon than a wodden bear

The price on this doesn't seem excessive to me. Its aesthetically pleasing and I'd pull the trigger if this was offered.

Biskup keeps creating new and interesting work.

People are comparing price points here as to the War Dragon and Bearbrick which makes sense since they are both expensive (if one considers them toys).

Seems to me that KAWS is busy bronzing his past triumphs, churning out recycled Bearbricks at $500 a pop, and otherwise resting on his laurels.

I like both artists but am far more impressed with Tim these days.

I'll agree Biskup is really expanding his range and his subject matter. All his 'toys' are top notch ( giant pollards for example). He is alsoi 100% 'fine artist' who just happens to like 'merch'.

I would disagree with the statement that "All his "toys" are top notch.

He had production problems with the large pink Ghonners (heads caved in on some) and some of the striped Callis had paint problems.

But he keeps chugging along and I guess he switched manufacturers cause his latest stuff has been, as you say, top notch.
