I Managed a tattoo shop for the better part of 4 years. I had this question asked about 3 times a day. Most everybody who worked there replied the same thing verbatim

"a good tattoo will hold up well for about 20-25years. and by that time you wont give a shit what you look like anyways"

Suehiro is killer. He's part of an art movement called "Ero Guro", which is usually a mix of surreality, beauty and sex with a grotesque sick element to it. It crosses into literature (especially a writer named Edogawa Rampo) and film too. I guess anime stuff like Urotsukidoji would apply too.

Suehiro seems to have a thing for silent German film too (he's copped some imagery from Cabinet of Dr. Caligari and Nosferatu).

I have a copy of a film based on Suehiro's art that caused some people to leave the store while we were watching it once. They were super freaked out. It was classic. :lol:
