Digging it. This dude looks mad, while the older Obake looks sad. I'm really interested to see what comes of this.

Halloween surprise?

I like the old one better...and I agree with Pogue, it looks like it's going to be a diver whether it is going to be a new sheet or a new fig. Maybe some colors will make it better for me....

The good news is I am complete in the old Obake sculpt and they probably won't be making any more of them.

Just hope it is the sheet & not a stand alone. The cool thing about my favorite obakes was the layering of transparency over a solid figure.

Meh... The original obake is in my opinion the best SB sculpt ... besides the new usugrow figure.

This new obake sculpt seems to feel a bit childish...

Definitely western, and KRish. :?

The original Obake is one of my favorites. He looks content with the fact he is a ghost. Not feeling this new sculpt/fig whatsoever.

So far it's "meh". If it's a sheet to go over a figure it will be "meh +". If in production they cut out the mouth area to have the figure under the sheet peering out of the mouth it'll could be anywhere from "meh +++" to "that's cool".
And standard size? Do you mean 8-9"? Or standard fight size?

When I first started collecting SB the Obakes were the hot shit everyone wanted.

I don't mind the new sculpt, I think having mouth cut out might add something. I think the color/paints are going to have a big impact on how it looks though.

This is the new Obake sheet, so it will fit on your fight figures. The arms are higher than the old version, and it seems to stand really well. SB has a lot of interesting things coming up this year, I think it will be a good year for everyone.

Not so much aggressive . . . more slightly pre-menstrual . . .

You knows it . . . 'must find something to moan about!'

Just seems a lil' premature to be judging what looks like an 'early days' prototype in a base material, without colour or potential translucency, finishing or even the inner figure!

Should we stone Hiddy now or wait and see? :?

Lets just get excited that its a new sculpt, and if we don't like it, then we don't have to buy it - and if we do - then RESULT!

By the way, Hiddy says that in designing this new "angry" obake he is having fun with the character - he says the Obake is a mischeivous character.... so that probably reflects in the more cartoonish angle we are seeing here.

I agree the obake sculpt has the best character and I love that this one is angry. The other has a sad, sick to his stomach sort of look, both work for me.

Kinda remind me of this guy, but it probably has to do with the color of the prototype more than anything. It certainly looks more modern than the old obake and has less charm, but I still think it could be a nice figure.

I'd need to see the sheet on a body before I make the call. The peekaboo mouth could be pretty interesting. Obake is the only figure I'm a colorway completist on so I'll definitely be keeping up to see how this turns out!

So far I like it, but as others said, it's always nice to see it with a paint application. When I first saw it I thought it might be a finger puppet or something, but that dosen't look to be the case anymore.

I think this would look really good in a clear, or like opaque with a glow face peeking out. Maybe do the LED thing and just do it ultra-modern and get some real haters on it. A versus type deal with both the obake sculpts in the same colorway would be rad too, as long as they make sure the new one looks better in the colorways so everyone can welcome it with the same open obake ghost arms it has always shown us.
