I suggest the Buy/Sell/Trade forum be eliminated from this board. It does nothing to further the stated goal of providing news and cut-downs, rather it acts as a distraction.

No it adds to the hobby and makes even more rare unfindable goods available to us..unless you really enjoy trying to constantly figure out YJA and then wait like a baby for someone else to place a bid for you...Just my take on it!!!I think the recent adition of people joining just to buy and sell maybe ruining it but its not the buying section but rather the new people "using" us for what they want and not contributing to the board that ruins it for everyone!!!

News and cut downs are great, don't get me wrong, but I've got a ton of stuff from the BST here and I find it to be a great resource for getting some good toys at good prices. It's way better than if people were to post this shit on the KR BST, that forum is retarded and I would rather go through here than on ebay personally.

Why don't you like it so much Yiminy?

I think its just frustration at the fact a lot of us worked hard to get this board where it is and some of the KR peeps only use us to buy/sell...It should be reserved for members that contribute and not used for fly by nighters that don't take an active part of this forum..IMO-BTW count-your Mr T shirt fuckin cracks me up everytime i see that thread-hahaha

Word!!! I have received some really good deals on the BST forum and also enabled me to trade and sell some stuff I would normally have just thrown up on E-bay. Saves time and money. So as the Count so aply put it - Whats the BEEF?

I think YJA, eBay, KR B/S/T and the many fine retailers out there provide ample opportunity for buyers and resellers alike. It's nice to have a place just for RFSO. Information, news, juicy tidbits free from profit motives.

An example in the toy world is the Rotofugi board. No selling allowed and it's maintained a helpful friendly vibe while other boards have degenerated, IMO.

Not anything or anyone specific. It's just my feeling about the feelings...

I've scored the majority of my JP shwag right here, either from board members or Ramos put up things he's found in some dark corner of the store. I've had nothing but awesome deals here many at cost!
This is a pretty close knit community with 99.9% fans and this board does a great job policing itself, especially from the KR bullshit. I vote it stays.
Just my 2 cents

I think the B/S/T forum is an asset to the community. Sellers can avoid eBay fees and carry out transactions quickly. And buyers can make requests.

Besides catering to collectors of Japanese vinyl, I think the main advantage of the B/S/T forum is the speed at which transactions are carried out. Collectors like to get rid of figures they don't want as quickly as possible, and collectors also like to get their hands on figures they do want as quickly as possible.

i don't know how many INSANELY easy, fast, and pleasant sales/purchases and trades i've made on this board.

and besides that, i've made friends and gotten to know people better through the transactions.

losing b/s/t would be a ridiculous shame imo.

Dont get rid of it !!!

I'm just getting into JP vinyl and this board is wayyyyyyyyyyyyy better than KR.

Ive yet to buy from YJA ... looking for the BxH figure I need... but in the mean time I'm on the hunt for JP stuff I dint even know existed.

Like I said Im new, and even though I havent bought from here yet it teaches me of the figures out there and how much there worth.

I'm a BIG BxH fan but from being here I started buying SB and now LOVE RxH !!

And Otherwise all that stuff I've sold on KR would be for nothing :)

I'm almost rid of the western vinly that I dont like. I need this place to replace it for JP stuff that matters to me.

:)

I've made quite a few positive deals on this board as well... I managed to get the great majority of Ghostfighters from here with a minimum of fuss. Nothing wrong with people trying to help out other peeps. :D

Thr BST thread is not going anywhere since almost all of us use it :D I bought a few things so far and never had a problem. Very friendly people and fair prices mean it's here to stay.

I actually don't have a problem with BST. In fact I've had a couple of good experiences there myself. My concern was that it's becoming such a big focus of the board. Just look at the post counts. That's not surprising given that this hobby, for many people anyway, consists primarily of buying, selling and trading. Anyway, since there are plenty of other places for BST, I thought maybe a "commerce free zone" would be nice.

Anyway, I acknowledge the stupidity of my suggestion and respectfully withdraw it. :D

I do get your point though. Especially as of late. It seems like there has been a feeding frenzy ever since Kozik’s big sale, not blaming anyone just noting a change, and it seems to have kept it's speed since then...

But I too have had nothing but great dealings with everyone here.

Most of my recent purchases have been through this board and the B/S/T section here. All very positive experiences.

I agree with Bigstar13 though, there has been a massive rise in the selling since the Kozic Event. Why all the selling? I understand the odd piece here and there as before, but damn, now it's whole collections or whole sections of collections going.

Just interested.
