Hmmm... yeah, still not liking it as much as the older version. Just doesn't seem as charming.

The older version had a somewhat somber sadness to it, at least that's how it hit me, that I liked.
The black base paint seems too jarring to me, maybe if it was more of a fade or blend. Seems like the paint should be flowing up or down to match the figure or else make it solid or clear.

It feels a little too generic now. The older one had more charm to it. I think it's because the old one had a sad/puzzled look to it which is not what you expect from a ghost. Maybe the new one will grow on me. I'm just gonna wait til S7 gets one so I can see it in my hands instead of in a pic.

I am going to have to dissent on this one. I am actually looking forward to grabbing the gid version. The sculpt shows a bit more passion than the older version, and the picture of the gid one glowing looks scary as hell. I look at it as being a kind of before and after shot of the original, a sort of dichotomy between thought and action. If they can replicate the whole standing, crawling, flying hedorah style updates, the idea could lead to some interesting results. The orange and black version I am less enthusiastic about, but it has more to do with the colors than anything else.

I kind of think the GID one is cool.
I was looking at the clear Obake the other day and the sheet on it seems to be a slightly different sculpt than the rest of the Obakes I have.

I really like the "I am a ghost and I am ok with it" feeling the old Obake has. This one is too over the top.

Can anyone post a screen shot? I can't view the SB site on my blackberry. I'd really like to see it.

Not feeling it at all. Looks like a candle sculpt and is a bit too aggressive to look ghost like to me.

I kind of like the way the sheet melts.

I kinda like 'em but the paint apps aren't doing them any favours, and with so many cool releases in such a short period I'm not rushing to order them!

Thanks for posting those you guys. I really have to say those paint apps really don't do it for me, which really bums me out. I was hoping for something to make them stand out more, they seem so plain to me. Hopefully there will be some wicked new colors!

i like the sculpt, but these colors stink imo. the gid paint app is too bright and shit, i DO however think it looks pretty cool glowing when you cant see the colors! and the orange almost nonexistant fade definitly should have been more of a fade. definitly. it looks like it came out of a 99c bargan bin at cvs or something. yikes. i hope theres a more interesting Balzac version at the TT event!

I looked at it again, and it just strikes me as something that I would see in the Halloween section of a big American store or something. I dunno.

I see that. Just less personality than the originals in my opinion.

The original obake was perfection... they ruined it.

I wouldn't say they ruined it...maybe it'll look better in some clear colors.

I think this is why I'm liking it. Don't get me wrong that the original was brilliant but this does have its charms. Natural progression. First the ghost can't understand that it's dead and no longer living. Once acceptance settles in, anger takes over.
