Really? I have a sick love for DLR era VH (I think Brendon Smalls does too from the Rockso and his website has a lot of homage to them) but I still can laugh at the joke of a human DLR is. Kinda why I like him, cause' he's such a loser.

I wish the album had Sewn Back Together Wrong and the Banana Stickers song, also upset that Toki's underwater friends didn't make it even as a secret.

I really think you have to listen to brutal death metal to truly appreciate this show.

I can see how someone who only liked some of the other metal genres would think it wasn't that great.

but if you like death metal, the characters/songs/content is right on the money.

skylar, i listen to a wide range of music...what do i need to listen to to "get it"?

if i were watching it with glen benton, jeff walker, karl sanders, "barney", and frank mullen would it be funnier to me? maybe it's one of those things i will find super funny in ten years but for right now it's just "ehhhh".

I wasn't trying to be insulting or anything.

but I do think it might be funnier to watch it with those guys. and if that happens, that you can get them all together to watch this show, please call me. I want to come over. :D

i just saw dethklok play earlier tonight..
all i can say is it kicked major ass!!

it was a students only show, the crowd was surprisingly metal as fuck..

was awesome to see brendon rock out in person,
and gene hoglan was bruuuutal on the drums!!!

they also had some cool 'just for the tour' metalocalypse animations on the screens that synced up with the live music. extremely rad for a free show

That's what I heard. I guess they're gonna do a real tour after this one, and as Brendon put it "with REAL metal bands."

yea, you could see the band and the animations...
the lighting was really dark on the stage though so most of the visuals were played off of the animations on screen.

and brendon doing nathan's voice live is just as evil as the recordings.
i def recommend seeing them if you get the chance!

I finally set aside some time and watched the first DVD set of Metalocalypse. Hilarious! I had seen pieces of episodes here and there but watching them all in sequence (with subtitles) really hooked me. Now I have to track down the second series on Bittorrent.

Funniest episode was probably the one where Toki was avoiding that girl from the Make-A-Wish Foundation. I can't believe they did that. I also really dug the one with Nathan's girlfriend.

The new album is out and all sorts of excellent.

Anyone else give it a listen yet?

I always remember how Toki looks away for one second at the end and when he looks back, the girl's dead, decayed, and maggot ridden in an instant. Crazy!!

yeah, love the show. Saw 'em last year which was really amazing and I'm hoping for a repeat this year.

The new album has been a great listen - love the Sepultura-like "Bloodlines" and "Volcano".

I'd write more but I gotta shuffle off to the Death metal fest of Obituary + Krisiun + Warbringer + Goatwhore and The Berzerker (?). Should be a good show with a ton of clowns who take this stuff too seriously.
