Meh, rejection email on the Virus but they'll hold an unpainted...

Think I'll pass since despite its limited nature its really boring and not worth the money imho.

Same here. . . . kinda bummed but I took 'em up on the offer . . . . I figure it gives another angle to the series and would make a good base for a custom if a Virus or another GID spray shows up anytime.

There are customizers that would kick ass on the sculpt but I've got a bunch of blanks I haven't gotten around to dealing with already so got to pass.

Con-Firmed. I went for the painted full size and scored. I didn't REALLY get a confirmation email, I just wrote and asked them and they said I was 100% good on it.

This will be my first Full Sized Drag, kinda excited. When the news hit for this I just figured "no chance" but than the link above popped up, and I went for it.

The woman who responded said they got flooded with orders and I barely made it in. She also mentioned they were NOT ready for this type of response and were going to try to get back to everyone ASAP. That was this morning.

Biskup is so LA I really feel there is no point in continuing to collect his work (as a non LA area resident). Its too painful.

I'll enjoy what I've got and photos of his new stuff but this non Southern Cali resident won't attempt to buy any more Biskup unless its a really outstanding new sculpt.

Biskup's a terrific artist but too inaccesible since I'm not Hollywood located.

Well, we are very lucky in los angeles to be in the eye of the cyclone, but Biskup is international. I think the point is, you really have to go to the shows to get any artist's one of a kinds and limited editions. Virus Pollard was released in Japan. And Biskup recently had shows in Barcelona, Australia and Japan! Next Year I understand he will show in NY.

Don't Give Up!

When that uber Drag custom shot was posted my thoughts were "that guy must live in LA".

Then this post appeared:

I can't think of any artist working in vinyl where a photo like that would cause you to pinpoint a collector's location.

I'm not giving up just moving on and changing my focus to support artists who are less punishing to those who don't live in their area.

Biskup still kicks ass, his merch will sell without me.

I would take planes, trains and automobiles to get the one-offs!

A collection of customs like that would take a lot of work even if you live in LA and have a chauffeur driven Bentley.

I'm not attacking Biskup, I still like his stuff.

I'm just not masochistic enough to keep trying to collect his work since I perceive him as LA only. I know Pogue has a great TB collection for example so there are some exceptions.

There are artists like Pushead, Kozik, Bwana, and others who are a bit more fan friendly.

If you see a great collection of customs from those folks you don't automatically think SF resident, Portland resident, etc.

I'm done bashing my head against a brick wall. It just means one less person competing for Biskup's merch for you guys and more $$$ to spend on other people's work on my end.

Like Super77 pointed out, Biskup has had many releases outside of SoCal and on top of that, he has sold most of his items online. So don't get out of collecting his stuff because of geography! Just hang in there and keep hunting :D

And the ironic thing is that most of the custom Mini Drag's that I have seen (like the ones in the picture earlier) have been sold in NYC....at the NY ToyCon.

In addition to Glenn.....the person with the BEST collection in my opinion, Wendy aka UUB, lives in New York.
