The book is a post-postmodernist classic. Borderline masterpiece.
I found the film entertaining at times and Brad Pitt especially amusing in the role of the anti-oedipus.

The handpaint captain just showed up in the UK . . . absolutely frickin' amazing! So many subtle tonal variations and killer detailing . . . It blows all the previous Pirates and Captains outta the water . . . the next release has a real hard act to follow!
