Gold Mine In Farmingdale Long Island...

Mon Jan 21, 2008 10:15 am

If you ever find yourself in this part of the woods, I definitely recommend checking out a small vintage toy store called The Land Of Ooohs and Oz. It's jammed packed with old and new toys alike but definitely something to please toy collectors of all sizes. The pictures I took doesn't even touch on the amount of stuff they have.

A good place for sure. I've been going there since 2003 whenever I'm around that area. A good place to get my star wars fix. 8)

i'm sure they do, but this place is like an old record store. you may have to spend some time looking and the guy isn't too helpful or really knows what he carries. this place has everything jammed packed. I have to return when i don't have the family in tow because it's insane.
what are you looking for?

famous place to go toyshopping - even here in berlin.
knowing some collectors going there for 10 years.
next time in nyc have to make it out there too...

Yeah, you can or just drive there if you live on Long Island like me.

not a bad ride though to the middle of nowhere.

hahah - well, I did have a new Mazda 6 before moving out here...after seeing what the neighborhood delinquents do to cars I'm glad I left it in Indiana. LIRR, here I come!

Vintage GI Joes, Mego's, and the big bots alone is worth the trip. Thanks for posting Joel.

yeah, I wouldn't have a car if I lived in BK. It's kind of a necessity out here though.
Let me know how the trip goes and take pictures of the haul.

There's a lot of little shops like this around the NJ/PA area. you just need to know where to look. Never been to this one though, so It might be a day trip!

definitely worth the day trip Missy, especially on a weekend. Drive further south on Route 110 and they have a FunStation/ Nathans that has one of the last working Rockafire Explosion Band Complete.

Over the river and through the woods... it's always an adventure there.

Spotted this place from the train and completely forgot about it...until the next day when this thread randomly got revived! Naturally, I had to make the trip. Went there Saturday and spent $20 on some random old carded figures. No sofubi, but definitely a cool place if you are into vintage/retro American toys. Check it out if you're in the area.

It's pretty cool, I went there back in the spring. Lots of stuff: 80s/90s action figures, star wars, disneyana, on and on...
