Not trying to be hard, just saying that my pain will only subside when I get some new RxH.

Well dundun, looks like you'll have some company. For me, I've collected a bunch of KFGU over the past year or so, but recently got into some "harder" shit...namely Popsodas. Guess KFGU is the "gateway drug" so to speak

Pogue recently explained "bubble" vinyl to me during a store visit. I hope I get this right (Pogue please correct me if I've misremembered anything.) The bubbles aren't so much the result of any fancy technique as they are the result of the use of "old" vinyl. Evidently when bulk vinyl is past its prime processing age, it yields little bubbles when molded. Generally, this would be considered a flaw, but being the brilliant recombinant thinker that he is, Mori has turned this "flaw" into an attractive feature.
As everyone knows there are already a lot of darker green RxH figures. I really love this hue for being a bit brighter (although not crazy bright like the Rotofugi Chaos) than the Ramunes, Phone Orders, etc. Making the eyes red was brilliant ... that old "working from opposite ends of the color wheel" trick. I generally prefer painted pieces but this Bubble Head is a case where just exactly the right hues make the figure "pop" without the benefit of a paint scheme. The translucency is also cool. It doesn't even appear to be translucent until light shines through it. As the Head is displayed in my home, it appears to be different shades of green at different times of day, according to how the light hits it. Gotta love that.

Hmm, very interesting. So Mori had some old clear green vinyl source material in storage, I suppose? I wonder if this is related to the bubbling problem that came up with the Rumble Monsters Snow Pharaohs.
You let the light touch your toys? *Gasp*
Photo of the RM toy, as an example:

Yeah, and the pharaos isn't supposed to be this way. I was a mistake. So the bubbles are random and not even so it looks like a disease. The RxH figs are even which makes it look like a texture. Huge difference.

if you look at the red eyes on the head, it does look like the bubbles are at the surface...but the rest looks totally smooth...
ugh. I am so upset I missed this and the bubble Chaosmen as well...they really look amazing...
I think it's best that they went to people who collect RxH as their main collection...but I do wish I had scored at least the Grey Chaos...hurm.

I seem to recall that the bubbly Pharaohs was a mistake (and not intentional), but I'm curious as to whether it was due to the use of 'aged' vinyl or to some error in the production process.
Yes, my Pharaohs has ick.

Never directly. I'm not too worried about filtered sunlight all the way across a room from a window. Yikes, should I be?
I didn't notice any bubbles near the surface but I'll take a closer look.

I took this picture a long time ago in a galaxy far far away:
Proto bubble Chaos from Mori's house. And if I remember correctly there are less than 10 each of the green and blue spray figures. Or pretty close to that.

I don't know, actually. I have what appear to be UV filters on my windows, but the filtered light still hits my shelves on certain days.

unless you live in a basement/dungeon or keep all your shit stashed away in boxes, light hitting them is pretty unavoidable.
