What's "retail"?

Heh.
Ironically, "retail" sometimes appears to be the price level at which some Real x Head items become less desirable. The most excellent yellow Jinja-R and best Hone Borg yet are still available at retail prices from Super7. Maybe they were just larger than usual runs, but I wonder if there's sort of a nutty collectors' frenzy psychology that dictates that "if it's readily available at a reasonable price, it's less desirable than paying three or four times retail at YJA or eBay for something else recently released."

Heh heh... actually the "what's retail?" comment was aimed more at an old Circus Punks Paul blow up thread where he was trying to sell a bunch of Japanese vinyl without showing anyone a picture of what he had.
People asked if he would list the items or show pictures so they could formulate reasonable offers, and he kinda went off on this bizarre rant of us trying to rip him off and what "retail" really meant, and such... he later said that someone made him an offer that he accepted.
We never really found out what he had up for sale... so how this unknown person figured out how much to offer remains a mystery.

Aha, I missed that episode so my context was off. I thought you meant that people have become accustomed to paying higher than retail for RxH figures.
Darn, that sounds like some good popcorn material.

Very clever xo.
I gotta say, though I'm RxH > SB, it's kinda sad. When I started it was SB, Gargamel than RxH, I guess I never noticed it was a rank thing. SB actually is what caught my attention first, but didn't resonate with me as much as RxH and Garg did once I saw them.

Fasinating !!! Anymore from that new arrived box ?
I don't have a rank for those brand as well. I started with M1, Marmit, B-Club, gargamel, and now rxh. But recently I'm bored of the non-stop release of the minis
coz so many nice stuff but limited money

it's kind of funny because the jinja-r is the figure we got least amount of, i wouldn't label it "rare", but yes it's more rare than everything that sold out.

I think you are making to much of the rankings. They don't mean much.

Wow, interesting! Well maybe this'll help: It looks better in person. The yellow is very bright and the sliver on the probes/hands is a killer touch. Some things just don't photograph as well as they look "in real life," even when the photos are good.

It's not the colors with me. The colors look INSANE. I would kill to see this color on any other sculpt the jinja just doesn't do it for me.

Yeah that's fair enough. It's grown a lot on me but it's not for everyone.

Yeah, sculpt thing for me too on Jinga, just can't get it. The Gatchigon is killer on the sculpt, took me a bit, but Jinga, sorry.

be careful Peter, some of these kids may get interested in vintage and then you will be wishing for SB pre SDCC 2008 when no one cared about vintage...!

Agree that the notion of rankings or moving up or down a "list" is dopey.
So what if the RxH minis are new or even fun?
Dammit where are the so-obscure-its-cool He-Man minis? I hope they're coming soon. Maybe drop some cool stuff inside the resin before it cures? Don't deny us.

Funny as shit that "Buster Call" is in the subheading for Japan Toys but Cronic isn't. Makes one think how criteria is set, who the board is for, and who watches the watchmen.
