These guys are a collab between Marusan and Nostalgic Heroes. They are marked San and Heroes on the feet. You might find them searching Marusan but I see more of them listed under Nostalgic Heroes. They represent mini versions of the old Marusan PlayModel kits.

They indeed rule.

I'm gonna need to track down one of those Red Kings to go with my Garamon...it's awesome...and so is the GID Garamon...wonder how many of these they made, as I spent the weekend staring at mine and want others that may have been released.
also, I'm glad Greg saw this thread because I feel like his collection is full of stuff that's all about true collecting...it finding you rather than you finding it...

These are new sculpts, not reissues? They are incredible. Beautiful paint too.

I think the Garamon is the star of the bunch. Lovable, but just slightly retarded looking (in the good way). I can identify.

Quote: Krystal Kaiju from the 80's Your next holy grail Yet another great idea born ahead of it's time. Even into the 90's we still hadn't figured out that whole 'Crystal' thing just wasn't catching on...

I just got these guys for less than $8 each. I've reached my personal saturation point, but while I've given up on Yahoo! Japan (for now), I've shockingly found some cool vintage Microman stuff to complete my collection on eBay. Shocking because we're not talking Micronauts or repro Microman: Pure vintage. One was a capsule M122 figure that came from a person who had bought it in China... But he somehow came with a helmet for a M21X Dash Wing Type Microman. So now my guy has a helmet with only shipping in the U.S.! Too bad the figure itself had a busted ankle. Oh well. Will fix. Another was someone selling a set of missiles still on the tree for a Microchange Robot that I have... The only one of those I have... And the exact same model for the missiles.

Having realized, I've spent way too much lately, and am going to be hurting soon, I decided to kill the no new vinyl blues by opening up some toys that have just been sitting in my closet and displaying them. I put out my Cocoboy, and it seems like a new toy because it's been sitting in my closet so long. I was ecstatic, like a kid on Christmas, admiring that bad ass out of his box and proudly displayed.

Crab Rangoon wrote: looks to be Pegira ? Yes! Original Pagos from UPC (Us version hobby kit without motor from 60's). Based on Playmodel by Marusan. Look at the style.(I have this one assembled and the original box from the 60's, it was unpainted so I figured what the heck and painted it with acrylics back in the 80's. I think it still looks better than raw plastic) There were three...Ultraman peguila and Pagos.

Re: what it's all about. (IMO anyway...) how about you?
Great stuff in here... those Crystal Kaiju are intense!!! And the Mattel Zombies are killer, too. I was just looking around the eraser toy section of Mandarake in Nakano the other day (not one of the shops I usually visit) and they had a ton of awesome horror/monster themed figures in that vein. Unfortunately, most of the prices there were considerably more than $5 a pop! But this guy is my favorite. Dug out of a bin and purchased for the princely sum of $3, this is what would happen if Kanegon fell in love with a Mogwai:
