i love the way they look on my bookshelf, but it is a pain having to dust them

But it's FUN to dust! It gives you some one-on-one time with each figure, gives you a chance to regularly handle them, pick them up, rearrange and, overall, reconnect with each toy. It's my favorite part of cleaning my house!

I thought I was the only anal retentive person why actually enjoyed dusting. It really does give me time to re-appreciate my toys. After something has been on your shelf long enough, you begin to take it for granted. When you've got to take a little tlc with it, handle it, clean it, etc it makes you appreciate it all over again. It's bookshelves all the way for me. But never in the bedroom. Not while the wife has anything to say about it.

This is a shot of the wall opposite our bed and the adjoining wall. There are also glowie shelves on another wall and toys on top of dressers. The shelves are clear plexi so the glow comes through the bottom as well. I don't have a camera that will handle a glow shot but when I get one you can bet I will post a glowing shot. It is really great to leave the lights on for a half hour or so before we go to sleep and then drift off to the sight of fading glowies. I also think the gid stick-on stars add a nice touch. Yes, dusting is a I FART A LOT.

Glow pics would be sweet.^^^
:D

No toys in my bedroom yet. But they are spreading. I am sure it won't be long before they take over the bedroom as well.

I have most of my toys in my bedroom, and I have my Tokoji Seijins right on my night stand looking at me. I swear those cute little bastards give me sweet dreams.

I have one of those Sharper Image style ionizers. It collects and filters a lot of dust out of the air. But it will only cut back on your dusting a bit. Not a huge difference.

I was always curious what everyone else did. I take mine out once a month and dust them off with a small cloth. I also Windex every shelf and make sure there's no dust on the risers either. I like the idea of using air on the figure or a brush. Time to invest a little bit. :)

Makes sense... There's a ton of plush animals and dolls in our bedroom. I keep the monsters in a different room.

So I'm curious, why NOT display toys in your bedroom? I mean other than the simple "meh, I like them in another room" answers, are there any weird or picky reasons NOT to? Does it bother you? Why? Things like that, not attacking anyone but I'm just curious to know others thoughts on it now that this has come up and there seem to be a few different opinions.

For me, it's because I want visitors to check them out. As someone else said, myself and my wife are the only ones that go into the bedroom, and I love to have people gape at everything when they come over.
I've literally got toys hanging out all over my house - on windowsills, tops of bookshelves, detolfs, china cabinets, and open shelves.
However, I always try to have at least one GID thing in the bedroom - right now it's one of Nagata's Captain Maxx figs.
I also have to agree with the dust issues - the stuff in the cabinets are mainly smaller things I don't want to have to watch fall like dominoes when I pick them up to dust them.
Great (as always) to hear everyone's display fetishes, though.

Oh yeah, but why neglect the bedroom? I'm ALL about ALL over, even the bathroom.
